Our September Artist in Residence is Wood Snakes By The Sea By Nicole Cantore Koester
Join YWCA&nbsp;Greenwich for a reception on Saturday, September 26th, 2 - 4 PM in the Gertrude G. White Gallery.&nbsp; This event is free and open to the public
About the Artist This series was inspired by the 2025 Chinese New Year of the Snake. It includes Nicole’s “By the Sea” series which features collected crab and oyster shells from the Long Island Sound, hence the title “Wood Snakes By the Sea” Nicole has a BFA from Syracuse University in Communications Design. She works in mixed media; ceramics, sculpture, and painting. Nicole freelanced as a graphics designer. She then took her creative passion and co-founded Hand Painted, a ceramics studio in Stamford, CT. She also has an Art Teaching Certification. Nicole's art is frequently exhibited throughout Connecticut.

During Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, YWCA Greenwich’s Harmony Project is hosting a financial empowerment conference to help survivors and those affected by domestic and sexual violence take the next step toward a stronger financial future. This conference will provide practical tools, expert guidance, and resources to build financial confidence, strengthen financial independence, and plan for the future.

Join YWCA Greenwich’s Harmony Project as we close out Domestic Violence Awareness &amp; Prevention Month with a moving candlelight vigil honoring the lives lost to domestic violence and celebrating the strength and resilience of survivors.
The evening will also include a special tribute to Elizabeth W. Butler, recipient of the Purple Ribbon Award, recognizing her longtime advocacy on behalf of domestic violence survivors.

The Fall Party was established in 2023 to raise funds to support financial aid for youth programs at YWCA Greenwich. Through the generous supporters of The Fall Party, YWCA Greenwich is able to reduce financial barriers for children from all over the Greenwich community to participate in our programs. YWCA Greenwich is committed to providing high-quality, enriching programs, which include an NAEYC accredited preschool, an ACA accredited summer camp, after-school care, swimming, baseball and gymnastics. Join us for our Annual Fundraiser on September 17, 2026 Brings Together Community Supporters for a celebratory evening with Dinner, Networking, and Live Music on the Waterfront. The evening will bring together community members, mentors, clients and donors to celebrate the women we support and to raise funds to sustain our programs.
Guests will enjoy an evening of dinner, networking, and waterfront views, along with exciting raffle prizes. The event will feature live music from Mesha Steele, and heartfelt remarks from mentors and mentees about the growth, connection, and success they've built together.
