Join us this summer for an exciting, new, all-day youth program combining the considerable strengths and history of the Hudson River Maritime Museum, now in its 47th year! The HRMM Voyager Program offers a truly unique, multi-activity, hands-on opportunity for young participants.&nbsp;Open to all skill levels, our&nbsp;<a href="https://hrmm.app.neoncrm.com/event.jsp?event=9590&amp;" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Seafarers</a>&nbsp;(9-12 years old) and Navigators (13-17 years old) will spend each day sailing for three hours, practicing boat building and woodworking for 90 minutes, and participating in other STEAM activities involving history, crafts, games, and tours on our solar tour boat&nbsp;Solaris, all while fostering learning, friendship, and adventure. Seafarers and Navigators will come together for a mid-day lunch onshore.&nbsp;The program is led by professional woodworkers, museum educators, and US Sailing Certified Instructors who help participants explore how STEAM principles apply in the woodshop and on the water. Classes are held rain or shine each day they are scheduled. We sail in light rain, but if thunderstorms threaten we stay ashore and do other activities.

“Hudson River Undercover” explores how working-class recreation and private surveillance collided aboard Hudson River steamboat excursions during the early twentieth century. The talk focuses on an investigation report written mere weeks after the onset of federal wartime alcohol prohibition in July 1919 by an undercover agent working for New York’s Committee of Fourteen, an influential private anti-vice organization backed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Held in the Manuscripts and Archives Division of the New York Public Library, the investigation report reveals how wage-earning women articulated femininity and sought out individual freedoms, companionship, pleasure, and romance via Hudson River steamboat excursions at a time when authorities were particularly anxious to monitor and control working women’s leisure activities.Presented by Austin Gallas. Austin&nbsp;writes about US history, focusing on urban moral reform&nbsp;efforts, private surveillance, and the politics of leisure culture during the Progressive Era. Austin holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where he teaches in the School of Integrative Studies. His work has been published in The Journal of the History of Sexuality, Lateral: Journal of the Cultural Studies Association, and Literary Journalism Studies.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum (HRMM) is pleased to welcome renowned maritime musician and storyteller Geoff Kaufman back to Kingston for two special performances celebrating the rich traditions of folk and maritime music.
Audiences will have two opportunities to experience Kaufman's captivating performances. On&nbsp;Friday, July 10, 2026, at 7:00 PM, Kaufman will perform in HRMM's Homeport Barn, offering an intimate evening of songs and stories drawn from maritime history, folk traditions, and contemporary themes. The following evening,&nbsp;Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM, guests can enjoy a live musical cruise aboard HRMM's solar-powered tour vessel,&nbsp;Solaris, as Kaufman performs while cruising the scenic Rondout Creek.
Known for his engaging stage presence, powerful voice, and deep knowledge of traditional music, Kaufman has spent decades sharing songs of the sea and the people who lived and worked on the water. Whether on land or aboard&nbsp;Solaris, attendees can expect an unforgettable evening of music, history, and community.

Site Seen presents Of Frame and Fallow, a one-night-only contemporary art exhibition transforming a vacant former Dollar General in Esopus, New York into an immersive temporary art environment.
Featuring work by more than 50 artists from across the Hudson Valley, New York City, and beyond, the exhibition explores themes of place, transition, memory, transformation, and the hidden potential of overlooked spaces.
Rather than presenting art within the traditional white-cube gallery model, Of Frame and Fallow embraces the architecture and history of a recently abandoned commercial building, allowing artists and visitors alike to engage directly with a site caught between past and future uses.
The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, and mixed media works, accompanied by artist process videos displayed throughout the space. There are no traditional wall labels, encouraging visitors to experience the work through discovery, conversation, and exploration.
Presented by Site Seen, a Hudson Valley nonprofit dedicated to activating overlooked and transitional spaces through contemporary art.
