<p>Celebrated each year in September, Welcoming Week is an annual event that connects neighbors and celebrates communities coming together to promote cross-cultural understanding and raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone.</p>
<h4>OPEN TO ALL</h4>
<p>Somerset Hills YMCA is proud to celebrate Welcoming Week! We are thrilled to open our doors to the community for various special activities as well as a chance to connect with neighbors in a nurturing environment that focuses on strengthening the community by connecting all to their purpose, potential, and each other. We welcome all, regardless of financial or physical circumstance and we strive every day to promote understanding, tolerance, and compassion within our community.</p>

<h1>RECOVER AND RECLAIM</h1>
<h3>LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA: Partners in Healing</h3>
<p>Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected. LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA supports cancer survivors and their families through its no-cost program that provides opportunities to engage in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person.</p>
<h4>Benefits of LIVESTRONG at the YMCA:</h4>
<ul><li>Free, 12-week Y membership for the participant and their family</li><li>Fitness Assessment</li><li>Two 75-minute classes each week</li><li>Small group setting (8-10 participants)</li><li>Full access to YMCA facilities, including Kids Corner babysitting services</li><li>Designed for adults who are undergoing or who have completed their cancer treatment</li></ul>
<h4>Join LIVESTRONG at the YMCA</h4>
<p>This program is open to all in our community. To begin the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program participants should:</p>
<ul><li>Have a strong personal desire to enroll in the program</li><li>Personally commit to attending all classes</li><li>Consult with their physician prior to joining the program</li><li>Permit Y Wellness Staff to call their physician or person giving treatment when necessary</li><li>Obtain medical referral and waiver</li><li>Complete YMCA paperwork and screening questionnaire</li></ul>

<p>Tuesday and Thursday from 12PM – 1:15PM</p>
<p><b>Advanced registration is required as class size is limited and given that a doctor’s clearance is required. Enrollment decisions are made individually and confidentially.&nbsp;</b></p>

<p>Are you interested in connecting with fellow service members? Join our trainer and Navy Veteran Liz Stoddard for our Veteran Social and Trivia Nights! </p><p>Enjoy some friendly inter-service competition playing group trivia while you meet other local veterans. Light refreshments will be provided.</p>

<p>Looking for Labor Day weekend plans? Look no further than <b>SUMMERFEST</b>—an afternoon of live music, great food, games, shopping, and more!</p>
<p>On <b>Saturday, September 5, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM</b>, Millington Baptist Church in Basking Ridge will host its first-ever Summerfest, bringing the community together for a fun-filled afternoon on the church’s back lawn.</p>
<p>Summerfest will feature <b>live music, a DJ, karaoke, cornhole, pickleball, volleyball, face painting, food and drinks, ice cream, craft sales, local businesses, and more</b>. Whether you’re looking to grab something to eat, enjoy the music, play a few games, shop from local vendors, or simply spend the afternoon with family and friends, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.</p>
<p>This event is <b>free and open to the public</b>, and everyone in the community is invited to join us.</p>
