Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution

INTENT

A clash of beliefs. Personal betrayals. Historic consequences.
By Mona Z. Smith | Directed by Traci Mariano

INTENT is inspired by one of the most famous espionage plots in American history. In the play, the true story of the famous British spy, Major John André, is interwoven with the fictional story of Katje, a widowed tavern worker whose son joined the rebellion and is now missing in action. Set in a time when our nation was divided against itself in a deadly clash of convictions, this play explores the intersection between high-stakes politics and the raw grief of families losing fathers, brothers, and sons to a relentless, brutal war.
