Moorpark College Observatory

Join the Ventura County Astronomical Society (VCAS) along with Moorpark College at the Charles Temple Observatory,&nbsp; for an evening of astronomy and telescope viewing. Featured speaker Dr. Gabriele Vajente (LIGO Laboratory, Caltech) will present "Gravitational Waves: Exploring the Dark Side of the Universe." Also a&nbsp; "What's Up in the Night Sky" presentation by Dave Holland and, public telescope observing, and limited observatory tours. Free and open to the public.&nbsp; July 11th 2026 Saturday night at 7:30pm, Moorpark College.

Join us for a special evening under the stars and discover the wonders of the universe alongside park rangers.
Through telescopes, you'll have the opportunity to view planets and other celestial objects within our Milky Way galaxy. The event will also feature a variety of fun, hands-on educational activities, including the Night Sky Junior Ranger program—an engaging experience for visitors of all ages.
To ensure your comfort, please dress in layers for changing evening temperatures and bring a flashlight with a red lens to help preserve night vision during the program.
Admission and parking are free.
