Jim Forti, Chair of WaylandCares, Neighbor

My name is Jim Forti and I live in Wayland.  My children all attended Wayland Public Schools and many residents may know me as a member of the Wayland Police Department for 28 years, the last 17 of these as the department's Youth Officer. In January of 2011 I retired from police work, but have continued to work on issues that effect the youth in our community. As the youth officer I was a member of the Wayland Substance Abuse Task Force and played a significant role in the evolution of this group into a community coalition which is now known as WaylandCares. I believe that this coalition has done a great deal to reduce substance abuse amongst Wayland teens, but there is still a  great deal of work to be done. 

Through this Blog I hope to provide the readers with valuable information which, on behalf of WaylandCares, "We Want You To Know" so that you can help us in our mission.
