Join us for a brief tour of the history gallery, followed by a talk about a local historic school for Chinese girls, Ming Quong.

This exhibition celebrates the revitalization of Muwekma Ohlone culture, focusing on their efforts to reclaim traditions through youth education and empowerment.
This two-part exhibition will have content in the Mike &amp; Alyce Parsons Reception Gallery from June 12, 2026, through January 3, 2026, and the Spotlight Gallery from July 10 through November 29, 2026.

In this program, Girl Scout Juniors will earn their Art and Design Badge by creating a Tiny Art Show. We will explore NUMU’s galleries looking for art and design, paint a tiny canvas, experiment with color saturation, sculpt tiny pottery from clay, and design our own tiny art show with pedestals and frames. This tiny art and design experience will be big fun!

Learn about the art of bookmaking at NUMU! We will explore how books are made and try a variety of bookmaking techniques for ourselves. Girl Scout Cadettes will fold, stitch, staple, and experiment with bookmaking tools to make fun and functional books. We will use a variety of interesting papers and design our own marbled paper using shaving cream!

Talk of the Town: The Los Gatos Women's Christian Temperance Union

The goal of this project is to highlight the Disability Arts Community as a way to reveal how art can be created: in communities, through conversation and support, through interdependence, and within systems of care. The concept of interdependence, or mutual reliance, celebrates asking for assistance, and honors the collaboration that is often present in artistic practice. NUMU provides a venue for conversation and learning to shift perspectives and develop awareness of disability culture and artists with disabilities.&nbsp;
“The concept of interdependence–that all people have needs, that none of us can get through the world solely on our own, and that having needs is not weak or bad or shameful–[is] an exciting and revolutionary part of the work; a break from, and add-on to the disability rights movement’s ideas of independence.”&nbsp; - The Future is Disabled by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha
Museums often construct a false separation between art created by artists with disabilities (disabled artists) and artists who do not expressly identify with disability. This exhibition disrupts that expectation by acknowledging that identity is intersectional and that creativity is informed by an artist’s lived experience. NUMU presents art that is made by, for and in collaboration with artists in the Disability Arts Community, celebrating the richness and diversity of the collective.&nbsp;
This project was developed with the support of an advisory group including individuals who identify as disabled, as well as allies who work to support and bring visibility to disability culture.

NAMI Santa Clara County invites the community to come together for NAMIWalks Silicon Valley 2026 on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at History Park in San Jose.
NAMIWalks is more than a walk. It is a day of connection, hope, and community action to raise awareness about mental health, fight stigma, and remind individuals and families affected by mental health conditions that they are not alone.
Mental health touches all of us—our families, friends, workplaces, schools, and communities. By walking together, we can help create a Santa Clara County where conversations about mental health are welcomed, people feel comfortable asking for help, and everyone has access to support when they need it.
NAMIWalks Silicon Valley is free and open to everyone. Individuals, families, friends, companies, schools, community organizations, and teams are all encouraged to participate. Whether you walk in honor of someone you love, in support of your own mental health journey, or simply because you believe mental health matters, we invite you to join us.
Funds raised through NAMIWalks help NAMI Santa Clara County continue providing free mental health education, support groups, advocacy, and resources to individuals and families throughout our community.
