<h3>Due to the forecasted threat of severe thunderstorms, large hail, strong winds, and potentially hazardous weather conditions for Thursday, June 11, we have made the decision to postpone the Concert in the Park featuring the Young Entrepreneur Fair to Friday, June 12 from 5 - 8 p.m.</h3>
The safety of our vendors, staff, and attendees is our highest priority. After carefully reviewing the weather forecasts, we believe postponement is the most prudent course of action. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Over sixty young entrepreneurs will be showcasing their creativity in a safe, fun environment, interact with real customers and experience what it’s like to run a business! These entrepreneurs will be selling a variety of handmade items including jewelry, 3D creations, artwork, baked goods, bookmarks, toys and more!
An awards ceremony will be held at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage for all participating on-site entrepreneurs. The judges will evaluate each booth based on originality of the business idea, business potential, overall presentation and creativity. Awards will be presented in two age categories: 7-10 and 11-14.
Don’t miss your favorite unofficial Taylor Swift tribute band, BURNING RED performing an acoustic set from “Love Story” to “Shake it Off” and everything in between, that captures the magic, storytelling and sparkle of Taylor’s music. Whether you’re feeling Fearless, 1989 or Midnights, there’s something for every fan.

This 5K Race will be held June 13th in Heritage Park in Homer Glen. Come join the fun! Joey’s Red Hots food truck will there, as well as Culver’s Frozen Custard, music by DJ Heavy E, numerous raffle prizes to local establishments (Tavern in the Green, Tazza Italian Ristorante, Stork Café, Mucha Salsa, Nothing Bundt Cakes), and multiple vendor tents, including Big River Footware, Goodlife Physical Therapy, Heat Shock Fitness, BMO Bank, Endure Running Company, and others. Also, Big River Footware is offering $15 off shoes and 20% off apparel to registered participants!
All proceeds go to the Homer Glen Community and Nature in Harmony Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to raise funds for parks, open spaces, trails, etc., in the Homer Glen Community. Mark your calendar and join the Community Arts Council of Kankakee County for all the great food, fun and entertainment at this year’s Strawberry Jazz Festival on Sunday, June 14. The fun begins at 11 am at Northfield Square Mall in Bradley, IL and continues to 4:00 pm.&nbsp; Admission and parking is free, so bring the whole family!

Entertainment will be provided on three stages featuring local groups like Acting Out Theater at the Community Stage.&nbsp; Enjoy top-notch jazz groups like The Kings of Dixieland, the Jazz Time Combo and the Allan Laskey Quartet at the Outdoor Stage. Relax to the sounds of smooth jazz from entertainers like Patrick Noland, Andrew David and Inversion Jazz on the Center Court Stage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Artists and crafters will be selling original work such as wood, glass, fabric, ceramic, art, jewelry and other types throughout the Mall and outdoors.&nbsp; Local non-profits will have information about membership and upcoming events and be sure to stop by the Friends of the Kankakee Public Library’s annual book sale.&nbsp; An indoor Kids’ Zone will let your child explore their creativity with art and craft activities and the popular Dime Toss will be outdoors.

Several local food truck vendors will be serving summer favorites and offering specialty strawberry items.&nbsp; Make your way to Center Court to purchase fresh strawberries and chocolate-covered strawberries.

MorningStar Mission is a non-denominational charitable organization dedicated to relieving the spiritual and physical hunger of the poor. The mission accomplishes this by providing food for the hungry, clothing for the needy, shelter for the homeless and the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all.&nbsp;
Through multiple Christ-centered programs and services, MorningStar Mission aims to help people in need by getting to the core issues of what has caused their homelessness. Whether the problem stems from alcohol, drugs, mental health or family issues, their services have been developed for those who have reached the decision to make a real change in their lives.
To help carry out their meaningful work, MorningStar Mission is presently in need of sewing supplies for a newly created sewing class.&nbsp;
