The Union Chinese School (UCS) in Westfield is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Chinese language and culture for the past 47 years. We specialize in teaching Chinese as a Second Language, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for learners of all backgrounds.

🌟 At UCS, our students don’t just learn the language—they live the culture. During our Chinese New Year celebration in February, students performed Chinese dance, Shadow Play, and even a musical in Chinese (see photos on our website!).

Union County Celtic Festival Returns to Clark on May 2 The Union County Celtic Festival, “a celebration of music, heritage and community” will be held in Clark on May 2.The festival, which will be held at the Deutscher Club, will run from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.Event organizers say the festival will “offer something for everyone, whether you have deep Celtic roots or simply love the rich traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and beyond.”The festival will feature Celtic musical performances by Callán, Ryan McCombe, and Nick Conte.Visitors can explore the heart of Celtic heritage with craft vendors and traditional dancing.There will be a dedicated children’s area and food will be available for purchase. Fairview Cemetery is proud to offer this next installment in a series of lectures highlighting the history of cemeteries in the state of NJ.Far from being scary, spooky places, New Jersey’s historic burial grounds are treasure troves of information for historians, genealogists, archaeologists, and art historians. This richly illustrated presentation by Rich Veit examines New Jersey historic cemeteries from High Point to Cape May. It provides a chronological overview of New Jersey’s historic burial places from the colonial period to the present. Exceptional examples of colonial, Victorian, and modern memorials are all presented and discussed. Audiences leave with a new appreciation for gravemarkers and burial places as important sources of information about local history.
