Josh is a former Army Officer and Iraq War combat veteran that advocates for Portsmouth to become more sustainable.
He is currently working with the Rise Above Plastic Coalition and gathering signatures in support for Portsmouth to enact a single-use plastic bag ordinance. He also advocates for Portsmouth to adopt a Pay As You Throw, or similar fairer solid waste disposal program, to save taxpayers that reuse, recycle, and compost money. Josh has also spoken out for an anaerobic digester being incorporated into Portsmouth's new wastewater treatment plant, solar arrays being visible in the Port City's Historic District, and plastic water bottles not being sold on city property.
Josh holds a Masters in Public Administration, used the GI Bill to become an attorney, and serves on Portsmouth's Blue Ribbon Committee on Sustainability.
