In our 20th year,&nbsp; the&nbsp;LeucadiART Walk&nbsp;is our largest free community event of the year, attracting an average of 7,500 to 8,000 visitors and local residents. We host over 100 artist booths across&nbsp;eight specialty Artist Plazas and feature&nbsp;fine art, sculpture, portraits, photography, prints, pop art, ceramics, pottery, blown glass, woodworking, leather, and fine jewelry--along a nearly one-mile stretch of N. Coast Highway 101.&nbsp; 
The event also features a hop on, hop off open air trolley, 21+ beer garden, live music throughout the day and a dedicated Children’s Artwalk with professionally-led art projects, family fun, music and entertainment.&nbsp;

CARLSBAD/OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Voices Rock California is bringing its no-audition community rock and pop choir to North County this fall under the leadership of two local musicians and educators, Vanessa Gerads and Frank Meely.
Gerads and Meely will co-direct the Carlsbad/Oceanside choir, bringing together their experience in music education, performance and community music-making.
Gerads has spent more than two decades teaching choral music and directing choirs and musical theater productions. Meely, music director for Inner Child Theatre Camp and a longtime North County musician and music educator, brings extensive experience working with singers and performers of all ages.
Together, they will lead a choir designed not just for experienced singers, but for anyone who misses singing, has always wanted to try it, or simply wants a new way to meet people.
Voices Rock founder Betsy Leighton, a former social worker and therapist, started the organization with 15 singers in Denver in 2014 with a simple idea: people shouldn’t have to audition or consider themselves accomplished singers to experience the joy of making music together.
“We’re not looking for perfect singers,” Leighton said. “We’re creating a place where people can make music, meet people and feel like they belong.”
Voices Rock choirs sing familiar rock and pop music in a relaxed, supportive environment. There are no auditions and no need to read music.
The Carlsbad/Oceanside choir welcomes adults from throughout North County, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, Vista and surrounding communities.

Surf’s up, and so are the fairway flags as The Brother Benno Foundation presents their eighth annual charity golf tournament fundraiser
The event will feature 11-time World Surf League champion Kelly Slater and a day of ocean views, premium swag, famous sponsors and memorable giveaways. And, oh yes, plenty of golf for a good cause.

Sustainable clothing brand Outerknown and local favorite C3 Bank will return as event title sponsors.
Auctions, live and silent, will feature luxury items and exclusive golf and surfing experiences. 

The top live auction prize will be a surfing experience at the Kelly Slater Wave Company’s Surf Ranch, a destination resort in Lemoore, CA. The Surf Ranch is an immersive surf lifestyle experience offering epic waves, farm-to-table cuisine and lifelong memories. Other top auction prizes include surfboards by Slater Design and Firewire, and a custom designed board by Gerry Lopez.

Silent auction items will include golf excursions, sports gear, clothing, gift baskets and restaurant gift cards.
Golf tournament participants will receive a premium swag bag with apparel and golf items from sponsors. Registration begins at 9 a.m., which is also when silent auction bids open. The tournament starts with an 11 a.m. tournament photo and a shotgun start; lunch, snacks and dinner will be provided. A 50-50 raffle will offer a chance to win cash.

Top finishing teams will win special golf outings for foursomes. First place, Aviara Golf Club; second place, El Camino Country Club; third place, Goat Hill Park.

Entry fees are $250 for individual golfers and $1,000 for foursomes. People may sponsor active duty military golfers for $250. (Brother Benno’s will continue its tradition of sponsoring local active-duty military golfers on tournament day.)



Sponsorship opportunities are available at several price levels.
Proceeds will support Brother Benno’s mission of serving homeless neighbors and working poor in North San Diego County by offering essential meals, addressing basic needs, fostering community outreach and supporting addiction recovery.
Since its inception in 2019, the tournament has raised more than $2.1 million for critical need programs in San Diego County.
