The show then becomes interactive, with kids in the audience taking on the role of junior theater critics! They write down (or even draw) and hand in their thoughts about each of the next songs they’ll hear — all new songs by next-generation songwriters, written for new musicals in the making. Current students will perform live alongside alumni who have gone on to careers in television, film, and publishing, including Claire Friedman, a humor columnist for The New Yorker and Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning writer for "Saturday Night Live"; Griffin Newman, known for the Amazon series "The Tick" and the "Blank Check" podcast; and Ryan Drum, a visual effects editor whose credits include the Oscar-nominated "Marty Supreme" and "Song Sung Blue." Singer-songwriter Gene Noble and actors Matt Pavich, Alejandro Kolleeny, Jameer Pond, Jon Cortizo, Mike Witzer, Jordan Rochelson, Frank Marsico, Rachel Resnik, Christopher Ferguson, and John Teufel will join the celebration. Founded by Jo Ann Grossman and Stu Morden, the program gives students ages 10 to 18 real stage experience writing and performing original comedy at professional New York venues. On Sunday May 17th 2026, the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association is proud to host the annual Community Stoop Sale in Central Harlem. Over 100 homes are expected to participate in this year's 1-day event over an area stretching from Madison Avenue to Adam Clayton Powell Blvd (7th Ave), and from 118th Street to 124th Street.&nbsp;

It also honors iconic singer-songwriters including Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, k.d. lang, and Loreena McKennitt, and concludes with reflective works by Stephen Chatman and Don Macdonald. In Ghosts of a Holy War, award-winning journalist Yardena Schwartz presents a meticulously researched and dynamic history of the 1929 massacre of Jews in Hebron — an event that became ground zero of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Drawing on century-old letters discovered in a Memphis attic, alongside contemporary interviews with Israelis and Palestinians living in Hebron today, Schwartz reveals how the causes and aftershocks of 1929 have reverberated for the last century — including in the aftermath of October 7, 2023. As Yossi Klein Halevi writes, “If you are going to read one book to help you understand the current Middle East tragedy, this is it.” It was also just announced that Schwartz’s narrative is being adapted into a feature film by Crystal City Entertainment.
Joining her in conversation is Noam Weissman, Executive Vice President of OpenDor Media and host of the Unpacking Israeli History podcast and co-host of the Wondering Jews podcast. Weissman is known for approaching Israeli history with intellectual rigor, educational depth, and a commitment to complexity — challenging both romanticized and reductive narratives. The conversation will be guided by 92NY Senior Director of Jewish Life Rabbi David Ingber. His spiritual insight will be asking not only what happened, but how the stories we inherit shape Jewish identity, communal discourse, and Israel education today.
Together, Schwartz and Weissman and Rabbi Ingber will explore the origins of the conflict, the power of historical memory, and the urgent need to rethink how Israel is taught in Jewish spaces.

Aszure Barton is among the most original and sought-after choreographers of her generation — a singular voice whose work has moved audiences around the world, from Nederlands Dans Theater to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. We are honored to close our Women Move the World 2025/26 Harkness Mainstage Series with a landmark event that celebrates her holistic vision.
As director of Aszure Barton &amp; Artists | AB&amp;A — a multidisciplinary dance hub founded in New York in the early 2000s — Aszure has expanded beyond the conventional choreographer-company structure by reshaping what it means to build a body of work, “a mobile home for trusted humans,” as she says. Since its inception, she’s been generating dance language with her most-trusted AB&amp;A crew while simultaneously creating commissions worldwide — all through a rigorous, collaborative process that simultaneously respects and dismantles classical and contemporary forms. AB&amp;A serves as both a watering hole and connecting thread for this choreographer and her collaborators.
