We invite PLNY member families to join us for a conversation between Barbara H Scott, PLNY's Executive Director, and leaders from our member school community. Together, our panelists will offer insight into all you need to know about Kindergarten school visits. Whether your child will be interviewed in October or January, PLNY can help you reflect on the what's what as you manage your family's kindergarten journey.
An exciting time for the whole family, beginning Kindergarten should be fun, and the interview is a first step. Our aim is to empower you as a parent, so you can empower your child. There are no silly questions, only the adventure of learning what to expect, how to prepare, and whether the interview is the make-or-break moment that parents worry about.

Open Houses are one of the best ways to experience how BASIS Independent Brooklyn helps students develop intellectual confidence, strong character, and a lifelong love of learning.
Join us on Saturday, October 17, to walk through our classrooms, meet school leaders and expert teachers, and hear directly from our students and parents.
Choose the campus that matches your child’s grade—or attend both:
<ul><li>Lower School Open House: PreK–Grade 2 | 9:00 AM | 405 Gold Street</li></ul>
<ul><li>Upper School Open House: Grades 3–12 | 12:00 PM | 556 Columbia Street</li></ul>
At each Open House, families will:
<ul><li>Learn how our globally recognized, spiraled curriculum builds knowledge, mastery, and confidence over time.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Tour the campus and visit classrooms with teachers.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Hear from parent and student ambassadors who will share their experience at our school through the years.</li></ul>

Each Open House will last approximately two hours. Families are welcome to attend even if they cannot stay for the entire event, and students are encouraged to join us.
