Born in Nashville, he got his start the old-school way: as a roadie, learning the business while traveling with his father, country legend and Grand Ole Opry member Johnny PayCheck—then stepping out to forge a path that’s uniquely his own.
John’s momentum is backed by national press: Forbes profiled him around “More Days Behind” and his own lane in country music, American Songwriter premiered his “Honky-Tonk Blackout” music video in an exclusive, and Cowboys &amp; Indians spotlighted “Foolish Ways” with a C&amp;I Music Video Premiere. His debut single “Lone Stars” landed on the MusicRow charts, and he’s a CMA of Texas Jim &amp; Mona Boles Legacy Award recipient and recognized by the Academy of Western Artists in 2021 for best country album.
His second album earned GRAMMY consideration in 2025, landing in a limited field of 45 releases in its category under consideration for nomination. The love of music pervades every note Annie Sampson sings. At the beginning of her career, she landed a principal part in the hit musical Hair at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco for some 300 shows. When the popular rock group Stoneground recruited her to become lead singer, she left the show and joined the group for a series of national and international tours. Buoyed by the popularity of their four Warner Brothers albums, Annie and Stoneground played the gamut of venues - from the Fillmore West and Winterland to Oxford University and the Olympia Theatre in Paris with stops at every major American and European city and campus in between.
A big talent like Annie's did not go unnoticed by her peers. She has recorded with Elvin Bishop, Taj Mahal, Buddy Miles, Maria Muldaur, Eddie Money and Country Joe MacDonald, as well as performed with Bonnie Raitt, Boz Scaggs, Otis Clay, Sammy Hagar, Commander Cody, Steve Miller, Nick Gravenites, Clarence Clemmons, Elvis Costello and the late Jerry Garcia - among others.
Since the mid-1980s, Annie has been leading her own band which performs regularly at Bay Area nightclubs as well as making special appearances at the San Francisco Symphony's Black &amp; White Ball, the Domaine Chandon Music Festival and the Oakland and Novato Art Festivals.

This 90-minute workshop for parents and caregivers focuses on the social-emotional competencies — self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making — that form the foundation for workplace readiness.

The fifth Tri-Valley Artist Studio Tour (TVAST) will be held the first weekend in May, May 1 to May3. TVAST will be a weekend filled with creativity and inspiration. More than 70 artists will be displaying their art in their homes, studios, gardens, and collectives, representing the entire Tri-Valley. Participating cities include Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, and Danville. Visit more than 25 locations to watch demonstrations, browse art for sale, and talk with local artists. You will find all kinds of wonderful art from paintings, ceramics, sculpture, glass, mixed media, photographs, and collage, to jewelry, textiles, and wearable art.
You will be amazed by the variety and originality in the artwork. This is a unique opportunity to experience the exceptional talent of local artists. Buy directly from the artist: from small gifts and home décor to full-size wall art, there is something for everyone at TVAST.
This fun family event is open and free to the public. Come and support local Tri-Valley talent and experience the tremendous diversity the local art scene has to offer.
