Karen Valentine Skyers, Neighbor

Before officially joining West Orange Patch as a  freelancer, Karen Valentine Skyers contributed pieces to neighboring Maplewood and South Orange Patch sites. 

With over a decade of experience as a human resources generalist and leader, Karen has used her experience in corporate communications to bring newsworthy stories to her town.   As a community advocate she donates her time to educational and philanthropic initiatives. 

While most of Karen's youth-filled days were spent living in Queens, Westchester and Manhattan, NY, she has called West Orange, NJ home since 2007.  She has earned a master's degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University's Teachers College and a bachelor's degree in Human Services from Pace University.
