The Wayne M.&nbsp;Kidwell American Legion Post 184 will hold a ceremony in honor of Memorial Day at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 10:00am.&nbsp; This event is open to the public.&nbsp;&nbsp;We will also have our Avenue of Flags on display, weather permitting, between 8:00am and 4:30pm.&nbsp; Each flag once covered the casket of a service member and we fly them in remembrance.

<ul><li>Where is the event located?&nbsp;On the Plaza across from Cinemark and Coastal Flats.</li><li>Are children and dogs allowed to attend? Yes, as long as they are accompanied by an adult and supervised. This is a quiet reading event, so please be courteous of other event attendees.</li><li>Can I bring my own alcohol? Outside alcohol is not permitted. Visit Uncle Julio’s, Crafthouse, or PF Chang’s to purchase alcohol onsite to drink on the Plaza.</li><li>Is there seating? Yes! We will have extra chairs and tables at the Plaza; however, you are also welcome to bring your own chairs, mats, or cushions to make yourself comfortable. Plaza seating is first come, first served.</li><li>Will it be silent? Well, no. While we’re quietly reading, please keep in mind that this is an outdoor space, so ambient noise is to be expected. However, you do not need to talk to neighbors or other event goers if you do not wish to!</li><li>Is the event free? Yes!</li></ul>
