Kathy LaBella, RD, CDN, Neighbor

Kathy LaBella is a registered dietitian nutritionist, and advanced health and fitness specialist practicing in Waterford, Connecticut. She is also a consultant with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation for its Together Counts program. Kathy specializes in lifestyle behavior change, sports nutrition, nutrition for musicians, and weight management. Kathy has worked on both collegiate level, as well as developing individual nutrition and exercise programs for a variety of clientele including professional athletes. She’s consulted in fitness centers, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers throughout New England to develop specific nutrition programs for all ages, and she has written and provided lectures relating to sports nutrition, and nutrition related disease and prevention. Kathy has both hosted and appeared as guest on local health and fitness television series, and was featured on Public Broadcasting System health programs.

Kathy understands how activity impacts the nutritional needs of the body; she has cycled long distances, run road races, and was an avid skier over 40 years. She continues to kayak, weight train, and beach run regularly. Having a background in the arts, Kathy’s expanded her practice and studies to musicians and vocalists who have special nutrition and energy requirements related to their activity levels and schedules. It’s Kathy’s goal to help others obtain their optimal energy level of performance through nutrition.

Kathy holds a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, and Certification on Dietetic Registration from Saint Joseph College, West Hartford, Connecticut, and has a certificate in Adult Weight Management with the American Dietetic Association. She has continued graduate studies, and is credentialed with the American Council on Exercise as both a Certified Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer.
