Across four decades, 16 studio albums, and over 15 million records sold, Indigo Girls continue to blaze the trail for generations of Queer artists in the mainstream. The Grammy®-winning duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray began their career in clubs and bars around their native Atlanta, GA, amidst a blossoming alternative music scene before signing to Epic Records in 1988. Indigo Girls’ eponymous major label debut sold over two million copies under the power of singles “Closer to Fine” and “Kid Fears” and introduced the duo’s signature harmonies and powerful, sophisticated songs to a dedicated, enduring global audience.&nbsp;Indigo Girls&nbsp;was the first of six consecutive Gold and/or Platinum-certified albums. Their latest record,&nbsp;Look Long,&nbsp;is a stirring and eclectic collection of songs that finds the duo reunited in the studio with their strongest backing band to date. “We joke about being old, but what is old when it comes to music? We’re still a bar band at heart,” says Saliers. “While our lyrics and writing approach may change, our passion for music feels the same as it did when we were 25 years old.”&nbsp;
Committed and uncompromising activists, Saliers and Ray work on issues like racial justice and reproductive rights (Project Say Something), immigration reform (El Refugio), LGBTQ advocacy, education (Imagination Library), death penalty reform, and Native American rights (First Peoples Fund).&nbsp;
“As time has gone on, our audience has become more expansive and diverse, giving me a sense of joy,” says Saliers. Recently, “Closer to Fine” featured prominently in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film&nbsp;Barbie&nbsp;and introduced Indigo Girls’ music to a new generation of listeners. Released in 2024, their critically-acclaimed documentary&nbsp;Indigo Girls: It’s Only Life After All&nbsp;(directed by Alexandria Bombach) blends 40 years of home movies, raw film archive, and intimate present-day verité into a heartfelt career retrospective. A&nbsp;New York Times Critic’s Pick, the documentary premiered opening night at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 and went on to screen at SXSW, Tribeca Film Festival, and Hot Docs before releasing to Netflix.&nbsp;
While&nbsp;Rolling Stone&nbsp;describes them as “ideal duet partners,” Indigo Girls’ live performances aren’t so much duets as they are community experiences—massive group singalongs together with their audience. To hear those collective voices raise into one, singing along and overpowering the band itself, one realizes the importance Indigo Girls’ music has in this moment. In our often-terrifying present, we are all in search of a daily refuge, a stolen hour or two, to engage with something that brings us joy, perspective, or maybe just calm. As one bar band once put it, “We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains…we go to the Bible, we go through the work out.” For millions, they go to the Indigo Girls: a creative partnership certain of its bearings, forging a way forward.&nbsp;

Emmy®-nominated singer-songwriter-composer Ben Folds joins the New Jersey Symphony for a unique and unforgettable performance of music from across his career. Widely regarded as one of the major musical influences of our generation, Folds’ enormous body of genre-bending music includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and numerous collaborative records. His latest album, 2023’s What Matters Most, is a blend of piano-driven pop-rock songs, while his 2015 Concerto for Piano and Orchestra soared to #1 on both the Billboard classical and classical crossover charts. He released his first Christmas album in 2024 and last Fall recorded a live album slated for release in 2025 with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where he served for eight years as the first artistic advisor to the NSO.

2025 was a big year for Herb Alpert. Alpert turned 90, and his classic album,&nbsp;Whipped Cream &amp; Other Delights,&nbsp;celebrated its 60th anniversary. And for the first time in over 35 years, Alpert is touring with an all-new Tijuana Brass. Alpert, along with six great musicians, will be playing all of your favorite TJB hit songs just as you remember hearing them while growing up.&nbsp;
The show runs 90 minutes and is informal as Alpert loves to answer questions from the audience about his career, A&amp;M Records, and the many iconic artists like Sergio Mendes &amp; Brasil 66, The Carpenters, and Burt Bacharach that he has worked with over 63 years. The show features a giant video screen displaying hundreds of classic photos, videos, art, and memorabilia from Alpert’s music career.&nbsp;
A legendary trumpet player, Herb Alpert’s extraordinary musicianship has earned him five #1 hits, nine Grammy® Awards, 15 Gold albums, 14 Platinum albums, and he has sold over 72 million records worldwide. Herb Alpert &amp; The Tijuana Brass propelled his sound into the pop music limelight, at one point outselling The Beatles two to one. In 1966, they achieved the remarkable feat of having four albums in the&nbsp;Billboard&nbsp;Top 10 and five in the Top 20. Alpert also has the distinction of being the only artist who has had a #1 instrumental (“Rise”) and a #1 vocal record (“This Guy’s In Love With You”). In 2016, the Herb Alpert Presents record label released 40 deluxe re-masters of the entire TJB catalogue plus all of Alpert’s solo albums from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. In all, Alpert has recorded 50 albums and produced records for many other artists, including Sergio Mendes &amp; Brasil ’66, Stan Getz, Michel Colombier, Gato Barbieri, and his wife, Grammy®-winning vocalist Lani Hall, to name a few. In 1962, Alpert co-founded, with Jerry Moss, A &amp; M Records, which introduced artists such as Carole King, Cat Stevens, The Carpenters, Sting, Janet Jackson, Peter Frampton, Quincy Jones, Joe Cocker, Sergio Mendes, Billy Preston, The Police, Sheryl Crow, and so many other great artists.&nbsp;

Absolutely unique and utterly original, this fearless, powerful company reigns from France, Algeria, and beyond. Combining contemporary and urban dance movements, capoeira, and martial arts with powerful imagery and inspired choreography, the dancers defy gravity. Inspired by Algerian author Yasmina Khadra’s novel,&nbsp;What The Day Owes To The Night&nbsp;traces Koubi’s own personal lineage as a French-Algerian choreographer. After learning about his family’s Algerian roots, Koubi returned to the country of his ancestors to collaborate with streetdance performers from across the Mediterranean basin. What emerged is “a creation of poetic beauty” (The New York Times), a meditative yet strikingly athletic work about the ties that bind us.
Named after the “invincible sun” deity, the work&nbsp;Sol Invictus&nbsp;upholds love as the guarantor of peace, that despite fracture, communion emerges as humanity’s saving grace. The music score includes a composition by Swedish composer Mikael Karlsson, with excerpts by Steve Reich and digital composer Maxime Bodson. “I want to talk about light, solidarity, and those bonds that unite us,” says Koubi. “Here, the sun and the dance will emerge victorious.”

The 53rd Annual St. George Greek Festival returns May 14th – 17th, 2026. This Central Jersey tradition kicks-off New Jersey's "Greek Festival Season" lasting from May until October at Greek churches throughout the State. St. George-Piscataway Greek Festival is synonymous with “philotimo” the Greek ideal of welcoming EVERYONE to explore Greek culture through homemade food, good music, traditional dancing and cultural tours. Attracting upwards of 15,000 patrons annually to celebrate all things Greek, our 53rd Annual Festival will not disappoint! Hours of Operation: Thursday, May 14th from 4 – 9 pm; Friday, May 15th, from 12 noon – 11 pm; Saturday, May 16th, 12 noon to midnight, and Sunday, May 17th, from 12 – 7 pm. All proceeds support St. George’s religious, cultural, and educational programming.
Each year, the parish of St. George-Piscataway, brings its well-known "Greek Hospitality" to the community. A staple in Piscataway Township and Middlesex County, it is one of the largest and well-attended Greek Festivals in the state of New Jersey, attracting over 15,000 patrons during the weekend. This Central Jersey tradition is known for its warm hospitality, enthusiastic volunteers and delicious homemade Greek foods and pastries. Our recipes have been passed down for several generations within our community, and are a testament to the connection we have to our Greek heritage.
