Wethersfield&nbsp;Historical Society celebrates America250 with a new program series&nbsp;exploring the history of the American Revolution. All programs in this&nbsp;series take place in-person at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center (200&nbsp;Main Street, Wethersfield, CT). Admission is free for current members of&nbsp;the society and $10 per program for non-members. Advanced registration&nbsp;is not required. Cash or check is accepted at the door.In&nbsp;this 4th installment of the American Revolution Program Series,&nbsp;historian Dr. Amanda Goodheart Parks delivers a lecture entitled&nbsp;Founding Mothers. Women in Wethersfield and across the colonies made&nbsp;important contributions to the American Revolution, but despite Abigail&nbsp;Adams famously asking her husband and his fellow Founding Fathers to,“…remember the ladies,” history has largely forgotten their&nbsp;contributions. This lecture shares the extraordinary stories of notable&nbsp;women across the nation (including Martha Washington, Mercy Otis Warren,&nbsp;Polly Cooper, and others) who helped America win its independence. Dr.&nbsp;Amanda Goodheart Parks is a historian, educator, and public speaker&nbsp;with over fifteen years of experience bringing the past to life for&nbsp;people of all ages. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of&nbsp;Massachusetts Amherst and serves as an adjunct faculty member in the&nbsp;Salve Regina University History Department.

This year, we’re bringing the community together not just to walk, but to gather for a&nbsp;Purple Picnic&nbsp;celebration afterward (Food&nbsp;provided by EFCT).
This family-friendly event is all about connection, support, and showing our strength as a community. Walk alongside individuals and families impacted by epilepsy.
Vendors will be on site sharing resources, services, and information designed to support those living with epilepsy and their caregivers. Whether you’re coming to honor a loved one, meet others who understand your journey, or learn more about epilepsy, we can't wait to see you!
Any teams who fundraise $100 or more, will receive a free sign with their team's name on it!
