La Peña Cultural Center
Since 1975, La Peña Cultural Center has been a vibrant hub for Latinx, Caribbean, and Indigenous diasporic communities in the Bay Area.
Our Mission
La Peña is dedicated to fostering social justice and intercultural understanding by harnessing the transformative power of the arts.
Our Legacy
Inspired by the "peñas" of South America—spaces for music, food, and political solidarity that emerged in the 1960s and 70s—La Peña has carried this tradition forward for nearly five decades. As the last remaining "peña" of its kind, we continue to challenge dominant narratives and amplify the voices of those too often marginalized.
