Start Making Sense is a Talking Heads Tribute band and they will be joined on stage by The Ocean Avenue Stompers, a four-piece horn section, for the entirety of the show. Many Talking Heads songs will be played, as well as non-Talking Heads songs. All will feature the Ocean Avenue Stompers. There will be no opening act. There will be two sets of music and both sets will feature horns. You don’t want to miss this show.
Ocean Avenue Stompers is a high-energy, genre-blending powerhouse that brings the soul of New Orleans brass, the rock ‘n roll of Asbury Park, and honors the groove of funk, jazz, and R&amp;B into one explosive sound.

Jeffrey Osborne
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Jeffrey Osborne was the youngest of 12 children and was surrounded by music as he was growing up. He had five brothers and six sisters, some of whom went on to have music careers. His father, Clarence “Legs” Osborne, was a popular trumpeter who sat in with the likes of Lionel Hampton and Duke Ellington and turned down many top band offers during his career to be with his family, he passed away when Jeffrey was only 13. At the age of 15, Jeffrey sat in with the O’Jays when the drummer was unable to perform to their standards, and went on to play with them for two weeks. That was all the inspiration Osborne needed to pursue a musical career. 
Osborne’s solo career has brought him four grammy nominations, five gold and platinum albums, including his debut self entitled album ” Jeffrey Osborne”, “Stay with Me Tonight” and “Only Human”. He scored an international hit with “On the Wings of Love” in 1982. After his six albums released on A&amp;M during the ’80s, he moved to Arista for Only Human (1990), then switched to a series of independent labels. His releases during the 2000s included ” That’s for Sure” (2000) and “Music Is Life” (2003), as well as cover albums ” From the Soul “(2005) and “A Time for Love” (2013). His latest project entitled “Worth It All” was released in 2018 on Mack Avenue Records , this project was written and produced by Jeffrey Osborne , with the exception of one song entitled ” Work It” which was co-written with his son Jeffrey Osborne Jr. who also performed on the track with him. This project, inspired by the late great George Duke has taken Osborne back to his deep R&amp;B roots.
Currently Jeffrey Osborne is actively performing and touring around the world. In 2012 Osborne founded The Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic. The primary mission is to benefit nonprofit organizations who support a continued push for music and arts to children and their families, as well as those who provide a safe haven for families in need. In the past nine years through his Celebrity Golf Tournament the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation has donated over $1,000,000 to various charities in Rhode Island.

Celebrating an insane 35 years in the “bizness” and 27 Albums to his credit Will Downing will not be stopped! Flexing on his international appeal, the lead single “What Part of My Love” shot to the top of the UK Soul Chart Top 30 and parked there. Those who no longer listen to new releases as the collective work it was intended to be, should make an exception in this case. Although not a “concept” album, the pieces of Soul Rising fit together beautifully as a single statement and should be enjoyed as such. We all know the about the smoothness, but there’s a brand-new kind of… dare I say… “Funkiness”, that I think is here to stay!
You (and your speakers, headphones, etc.) will feel the difference right off the jump, with the lead-off cut, “Closer to Me”, when that bass and drum starts hitting a little differently. The familiar writing and production tandem of Downing and guitarist Randy Bowland, turn the heat up a bit from their usual formula. With keyboardist Mike Logan Sr. and background vocalist Ms. Monet rounding out the groove, I dare you not to move somethin’! 
Soul Rising then takes a solemn turn to the heart and very “Soul” of this release. Downing, maybe for his own well-being, had to stare his tragedy down squarely and turn art into therapy. “Till We Meet Again”, serves as a father’s sweet hand-off to God to care for his angel Siobhan, until they’re joined again divinely as father and daughter in heavenly reward. An unimaginable undertaking for a parent attempting to channel pain into art. The song is introduced by the actual last New Year’s Day last voicemail exchanged by Downing and Siobhan, which contain no hint of the drama to unfold just 10 days later. Downing makes the song a true family affair, with daughter Aja and wife Audrey Wheeler Downing lending their supportive voices. A passionately moving albeit gut-wrenching tribute, but well done. 
Family… Will Downing dug deep for this one. Even down to the Album cover a original piece of artwork by Frank Morrison. Realize, recognize and appreciate a real man, a real artist and a real father with his Soul Rising!

“Hello cruel world / I’m not going away / So I might as well have my say,” sings Joe Jackson on his new album, and there’s no doubt that at a point when many of his contemporaries have lost their passion, their talent, their voices or even their lives, Jackson goes from strength to strength. Hope and Fury might, in fact, just be his best album yet.
A Return to Joe Jackson’s “Own Mainstream”
Though often depicted as a chameleonic artist who constantly “changes his style,” Jackson insists that most of his albums are in “his own mainstream” — collections of sophisticated pop songs, using different kinds of rhythms and combinations of instruments. At the same time, Jackson reserves the right to step away from that mainstream. As he said in a rare recent interview for the UK’s Chap magazine, “I always knew I was in this music thing for life. So every now and again I’m going to do something different, to keep it interesting.” Jackson’s most recent “sidestep,” Mr. Joe Jackson presents Max Champion in ‘What A Racket!’ saw him hilariously channelling a forgotten Music Hall entertainer from Edwardian England.
About the Album: Hope and Fury
Hope and Fury returns to the present, and the “JJ mainstream,” with nine strong new songs. After laying the groundwork for the album in Michael Tibes’ Fuzz Songs Full of Contrast, Humour and Heart Factory studio in Berlin, Jackson returned to New York’s Reservoir Studios with co-producer Patrick Dillett and assembled his on-and-off band since 2016 — “bassist for life” Graham Maby, guitarist Teddy Kumpel, and drummer Doug Yowell — augmented by the Latin percussion of Peruvian native Paulo Stagnaro. The result might strike a fan as a cross between 2019’s Fool, 1991’s Laughter and Lust, and 1982’s Night and Day.
Like those albums, Hope and Fury overflows with great tunes, clever and original lyrics, and funky grooves, with Jackson’s vocals and keyboard playing as strong as, if not stronger than, they’ve ever been. In keeping with the title (an ironic twist on Land of Hope and Glory), this is a more English Joe Jackson than we’ve seen for quite a while (the Max Champion influence, perhaps?), with some songs suggesting a love/hate relationship with his homeland.
Opening track Welcome to Burning-By-Sea describes a fictional seaside town inspired by Brighton and Jackson’s hometown Portsmouth but turns out to be a microcosm of the whole country, while End of the Pier ingeniously contrasts a slice of British working-class life in 1922 with a post-pandemic version in 2022.
For that matter, this is an album full of contrasts, but it’s mostly upbeat, with the trademark JJ humour much in evidence: from biting sarcasm in I’m Not Sorry and playful mockery in Fabulous People to pure silliness in Do Do Do. In The Face, an Everyman character finds himself lost in an angry and polarized political climate: “Not one of the Great Unwashed” but “One of the Great Overwhelmed.” Two other songs are in Jackson’s oft-cited “bittersweet” melodic mode: Made God Laugh expresses a kind of happy, grown-up fatalism about life in general, while After All This Time is a similar take on a long-term relationship. The album also follows a Joe Jackson tradition by ending with a slow ballad — this time one of his most beautiful, See You In September.
Joe Jackson is definitely not going away. Dividing his time between New York City and Portsmouth UK, Jackson describes himself as “bicoastal” both geographically and musically — and Hope and Fury as Bicoastal LatinJazzFunkRock.

Judy Collins
Judith Marjorie Collins (born May 1, 1939) is an American singer and songwriter known for her eclectic tastes in the material she records (which has included folk music, show tunes, pop music, rock and roll and standards) and for her social activism. Collins' debut album A Maid of Constant Sorrow was released in 1961, but it was the lead single from her 1967 album Wildflowers, "Both Sides, Now" — written by Joni Mitchell — that gave Collins international prominence. The single hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart and won Collins her first Grammy Award for Best Folk Performance. She enjoyed further success with her recordings of "Someday Soon", "Chelsea Morning", "Amazing Grace", and "Cook with Honey". Collins experienced the biggest success of her career with her recording of Stephen Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns" from her best-selling 1975 album Judith.
 
Richard Thompson
Richard Thompson (born 3 April 1949) is an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He made his début as a recording artist as a member of Fairport Convention in September 1967. He continues to write and record new material regularly and frequently performs live at venues throughout the world. Thompson was awarded the Orville H. Gibson Award for best acoustic guitar player in 1997. Similarly, his songwriting has earned him an Ivor Novello Award and, in 2006, a lifetime achievement award from BBC Radio.

For three decades, The Mavericks carved out their Grammy-winning sound — a multicultural version of American roots music, blending stateside influences like country and rock &amp; roll with the border-crossing textures of Cuban grooves, Tex-Mex twang, and Latin swagger — under the direction of Raul Malo. Raul wasn’t just the band’s frontman; he was its larger-than-life patriarch, with a booming baritone hailed by Rolling Stone as “operatic, spiritual, casually elegant, and wholly captivating.” With help from musicians like Paul Deakin, Robert Reynolds, Eddie Perez, and Jerry Dale McFadden, Malo turned The Mavericks into modern-day legends on their own terms, enjoying mainstream success during the 1990s (when songs like “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down” became staples on country radio) before reinventing themselves as genre-bending independents during the 2010s and beyond. “Raul was one of those fine-wine singers,” says Deakin, who co-founded the band in 1989 in Miami, Florida. “His voice was ridiculously powerful when we first started, and it just got better with age.”
A battle with cancer forced Raul off the road in 2025, but his musical influence remained. During his final hours on earth, he watched from afar as his bandmates played the Ryman Auditorium, honoring the man and his melodies with help from guest singers, family members, and a sold-out crowd. This was more than a concert; it was a celebration of the legacy the Mavericks had built together, highlighting the staying power of lifelong friendships and great songs. “Raul used to tell me that every time we released new music, it didn’t belong to us anymore; it belonged to the fans,” remembers Perez, whose guitar playing became an integral part of The Mavericks’ sound during their 21st century reunion. “To me, the band has always transcended the people in it. It’s more about the feeling, the vibe, and the high-energy entertainment we give people. We want to continue giving that spirit to our fans.” Great songs endure, even when their original vocalists are no longer here to sing them. There’s no replacing a once-in-a-generation talent like Raul Malo, but there is a way to honor the music he left behind. That’s why The Mavericks are returning to the road, performing classics like “Come Unto Me,” “Back In Your Arms Again,” and “As Long As There’s Loving Tonight” for the fans who helped make those songs legendary. Presented as “The Mavericks &amp; Friends,” these all-star shows will feature a decade-spanning version of the band, along with guest singers like Emily West and James Otto. “It’s not just a continuation of The Mavericks; it’s a moving musical art piece, from one show to the next,” Perez explains. “James and Emily can sing these songs with passion, spirit, and energy, because they love this music as much as we do. We might have different guests join us throughout the tour. People who love these songs just as much as we do. Maybe we’ll have a soul singer one night. Maybe we’ll get somebody from the rockabilly scene. Each show in each city will be different, and that’s part of the adventure.” That adventure has brought different eras of the band together. After a 10 year absence, bass player Robert Reynolds is back in the lineup — a move that not only restores the group’s original rhythm section, but helps bridge the gap between past and present, too. “In this incarnation of The Mavericks, we can celebrate across a wide arc of the band’s music,” Reynolds says. “We can honor Raul by looking at all the songs he wrote, including the early ones. It all becomes relevant again — and for the fans, this is a chance to see a full retrospective that cuts across the entire catalog.” “Raul would always write our setlist, and it would be different every night,” remembers Jerry Dale McFadden, the band’s keyboardist since 1994. “We have a lot of material to choose from. We released 8 records during the past 13 years alone, and that means our shows can all be a little different. They always have been.” The world looks different than it did in 1989, when The Mavericks launched their career in the punk bars and rock clubs of Miami. Decades have passed and trends have shifted, but The Mavericks have endured. Now, they’ve found a new path forward as The Mavericks &amp; Friends, honoring their beloved Raul Malo while building upon the legacy he helped create.

Audiences will have an opportunity to meet the star from the movie; participate in a costume contest; and interact with a live performance by the local Shadow Cast. They will be performing scenes from the movie ‘live’ on stage while the full un-edited film is shown behind them.

The hit movie stars Tim Curry as the devious and fabulous Frank-N-Furter; Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as everybody’s favorite nerdy couple, Brad and Janet; Meatloaf as ex-delivery boy Eddie who dates a groupie, Columbia played by Nell Campbell; and Patricia Quinn as Magenta, servant to Riff Raff, played by the film’s creator Richard O’Brien. The film has become the longest-running theatrical release in the world.

Boney James For saxophonist and composer Boney James, these words perfectly describe the music he has crafted for his new Concord Records album, Slow Burn, to be released on October 18, 2024. “When I mentioned that phrase to people as a possible title, they said, “That also refers to your whole career in a way” James says with a laugh. “This is my 19th record and I feel like I’m just hitting my stride.” Slow Burn is a new high point in a remarkable career that now spans more than three decades and includes a long list of accolades; four GRAMMY nominations, three NAACP Image Award nominations, a Soul Train Award for Best Jazz Album and four RIAA Gold Record certifications. In 2009, Billboard named James one of the Top 3 Contemporary Jazz Artists of the decade. In 2024 year Boney became the first ever artist to score 20 number one singles on the Billboard Smooth Jazz chart. But Boney James has never been one to look backwards and Slow Burn, which the artist produced, marks several firsts. Beginning with the album’s opening track, ‘Arcadia.’ The very first notes on the album are the acoustic bass playing of the legendary Marcus Miller. It’s one of the few times that Miller, known for his electric bass guitar work, has committed his standup bass playing to a recording and the first time that James has incorporated an upright bass into his own music Next is James’ intriguing interpretation of the classic ‘Butterfly.’ Co-written by master keyboardist Herbie Hancock and Bennie Maupin, the track features Marcus Miller again as well as young lion Cory Henry’s inspired electric piano. “This beautiful melody got stuck in my head” explains James. “I have never covered a tune by a legend like Herbie before and I hope we did him justice.” The title track, ‘Slow Burn,’ is one of four tunes on the album that James co-wrote and coproduced with multi-instrumentalist Jairus Mozee ( known for his work with Anderson Paak, Anthony Hamilton and Nikki Minaj etc.). Another prominent guest artist, rising-star R&amp;B vocalist October London, best known for his 2023 hit The Rebirth Of Marvin is featured on the first single from the album, ‘All I Want Is You.’ Says James, “It’s one of the most exciting vocal collaborations I’ve ever recorded.” The funky ‘Slide’ features Boney on tenor saxophone and keyboards, backed by all the member of his crack touring band. “This song has a little Minneapolis feel,” says James. “I got my start as a professional musician touring with Morris Day, but this is the first time I’ve copped this groove.” The Slow Burn continues with ‘A Little Romance,’ which James calls “a very heartfelt performance from the saxophone; it’s romantic, hence the name.” Both ‘Gonna Have a Good Time’ and ‘The Bounce’ keep the mood upbeat. Says James about the latter, “When I listen to it, I start doing this little bounce. It just puts a big smile on my face.” The penultimate track on Slow Burn is ‘Between the Lines,’ followed by a grooving take on saxophonist Stanley Turrentine’s ‘Sugar,’ featuring longtime friend and collaborator Rick Braun on trumpet. “I’ve always loved this song. It was a really fun and special way to pay homage to Stanley Turrentine, who was a definite influence on me,” says James. Slow Burn follows two of the most successful albums of James’ career, 2020’s Solid and 2022’s Detour which debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart. James is, of course, thrilled that his music continues to reach new audiences more than thirty years after he released his debut album, Trust, in 1992. “It’s always been my goal to be one of those guys that would just keep doing it at a high level,” he says, “and to have that connection with the audience.” That’s what it’s always been about for Boney James. Growing up in New Rochelle, New York, James played clarinet in his school band, but two years later, he says, “The teacher needed a sax player. As soon as I switched, playing it became my favorite thing to do.” By the time he entered his teens, James was already gigging with bands, and he turned pro at 19. After years of paying his dues with artists like The Isley Brothers, Teena Marie and many more, Boney cut his first album on an independent label, which led immediately to a major label deal and a string of increasingly successful recordings and nonstop touring. Now residing in Los Angeles with wife, director Lily Mariye, James says, “I wake up each day and try to play a little better. To quote the cellist Pablo Casals ‘I think I’m making progress.’ I am really proud of my playing on this new record. And I absolutely love the songs and the sound I achieved.” Some might say it has a Slow Burn: a deliberate intensity.

Solarize Delco Launches Community Solar Grant for Delaware County Nonprofits&nbsp;Grants of up to $20,000 available to help mission-driven organizations reduce&nbsp;energy costs and go solar
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA &mdash; Solarize Delco, a nonprofit solar education and advocacy organization serving Delaware County, Pennsylvania, has launched a community grant program to help local nonprofit organizations go solar. Grants cover up to 50% of the cost of a solar photovoltaic (PV) installation, up to a maximum of $20,000 per organization, and are available now while funds last. &ldquo;Solarize Delco exists to make solar accessible to everyone in Delaware County. Nonprofits are often doing the most essential work in our communities &mdash; feeding families, supporting children, serving our neighbors in need &mdash; while operating on the tightest budgets. Every dollar we can free up from their energy bill is a dollar that goes back into their programs. That&rsquo;s why this grant exists.&rdquo; &mdash; Solarize Delco Solar energy offers nonprofits a rare combination: a meaningful reduction in operating costs, a hedge against rising utility rates, and a visible demonstration of commitment to the community and environment. For many organizations, however, the upfront cost of installation has been a barrier. This grant is designed to change that. The grant program is part of Solarize Delco&rsquo;s broader mission to advance clean energy adoption across the county. As a no-pressure, no-sales advocacy organization, Solarize Delco provides education and guidance to help organizations navigate the solar process with confidence &mdash; from understanding their options to reviewing installer proposals &mdash; with no financial stake in the outcome.
Grant Details and Eligibility The Solarize Delco Community Solar Grant is open to qualifying organizations that meet all of&nbsp;the following criteria: &bull; Nonprofit status: Qualified 501(c)(3) organization in good standing &bull; Location: Operating in Delaware County, Pennsylvania &bull; Mission: Provides direct social services to the local community &mdash; such as food access,&nbsp;shelter, health services, education, or similar programs that directly benefit Delaware&nbsp;County residents &bull; Property ownership: Owns the property on which the solar installation will be located &bull; Site suitability: Property has an adequate location for a solar array, whether rooftop or&nbsp;ground-mounted &bull; Grant Amount: Up to 50% of total solar installation cost, maximum $20,000 per organization. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis while funds remain available. Organizations are encouraged to apply early.
