Matt Grace, a transformational recovery expert who has devoted his life to helping people break free from addiction and reclaim their future and author of the forthcoming book, God Doesn’t Relapse: Sex, Drugs, and the Life that Almost Killed Me, will speak as part of “Inspired Conversations with…” Marble Collegiate Church’s new series featuring notable thought leaders, on Thursday, May 7, 6 p.m. in the historic Sanctuary at 1 W. 29th Street in New York City.
With more than 20 years of sobriety, a bachelor’s degree in Addiction Studies with a focus on Integrative Healing and more than 10,000 hours mentoring individuals and families, Grace has become a trusted guide to both the highly privileged and the deeply overlooked. He is also the founder of Saving Grace,a practice designed to help families navigate the painful intersection of generational wealth and generational wounds.
God Doesn’t Relapse is a raw, unflinching memoir of addiction, redemption and the faith that turned a man’s worst mistakes into a life of purpose. The $10 admission includes his book, which will be mailed to attendees after it is published in August.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines fighting techniques with fluid movement, acrobatics and music. Join us for a safe and beginner-friendly full body workout focused on improving coordination, stamina and mobility. All fitness levels are welcome.

Background: Capoeira originated in Brazil during the 16th century as a form of resistance and cultural expression for enslaved Africans. Today it is practiced all over the world.
Instructors: Classes will be led by Instrutor Salseiro and Instrutora Esquila of Capoeira Guatambu Lower East Side. With over 20 years of experience in capoeira each, they teach classes for adults and children at Abrons Arts Center.
