<p>Gore Place is pleased to once again welcome Rachel Benson from <a href="https://www.thefiberweb.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Fiber Web</a> to run a needle felting class at the Farm. Come create a bucolic landscape featuring sheep!</p>
<p>No experience necessary! Rachel will guide you step-by-step through the process. You will be blown away by what you make!</p>
<p>All supplies will be provided. Participants will take home their felt painting as well as have the option to purchase needle felting supplies to try new projects at home.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Space is limited and tickets sell out quickly, so reserve your spot today!</p>
<p>This program is intended for ages 13 and up.</p>

<h2>Thursday, June 25, starting at 5:00 p.m.</h2>
<h3><strong>Join us for this fantastic fun family event!</strong></h3>
<p><a href="https://goodnewsgus.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Good News Gus </a>and his puppet pals will perform “The Caboose is Loose” starting at 5:45 p.m., the <a href="https://www.watertownlib.org/657/Bookmobile" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Watertown Bookmobile</a> will be on site from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and there will be ice cream following the show.&nbsp;Dinner is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy on our lawn.</p>
<h3>The Puppet Show Picnic will be held at the Gore Place Farm:<br><strong>249 Waltham St, Watertown, MA</strong></h3>
<p>The Puppet Show Picnic is FREE to attend thanks to the <a href="https://watertown-ma.gov/1239/Watertown-Cultural-Council" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Watertown Cultural Council</a>. Guests must supply their own food and picnic blanket.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>A One-Woman Play Written and Performed by Laura Rocklyn</h3>
<p>The year is 1788. Abigail and John Adams have just returned from Europe, where John has served as an American envoy to France and then to England. When greeted with the news that the new United States' Constitution has finally been ratified and that the first Presidential election is at hand, Abigail looks back over her life at the center of the inspiring and challenging events that led to the creation of this new nation.</p>
<p>Experience Abigail’s memories of her inspiring relationship with John that began with playful love letters from a young lawyer sending kisses to his "Miss Adorable," and developed into the extraordinary partnership between two sharp and visionary political minds that helped to shape a young nation.</p>
<p>Join us in the Carriage House for this entertaining and informative performance by Laura Rocklyn. The show will be followed by a question and answer session with Abigail/Laura. Lemonade and cookies will be provided!</p><p>Cost: General Admission: $35, Member: $30, Card to Culture: $10</p>

<h1>Weaving on a Loom</h1>
<h2>Saturday, July 25 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.</h2>
<p>Join us in our Carriage House on Saturday, July 25, for an extended 3-hour Traditional Skills Workshop* and try your hand at weaving on a loom! Each participant will create 4 woven coasters (aka “mug rugs”).</p>
<p>Weaving expert Beth Guertin of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.aplacetoweave.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">A Place to Weave</a>&nbsp;will guide you in how to use a four-shaft loom to weave at least 32 inches of the warp into multiple twill patterns and a plain weave. After the workshop, Beth will bring the weaving home to do the final felting and cutting process, then return the mug rugs to Gore Place the following Saturday to be picked up at your convenience.</p>
<p>All supplies will be provided.</p>

<h1><strong>Silk Shading Embroidery</strong></h1>
<h2>Saturday, August 8&nbsp;from 1:00 to&nbsp;3:00 p.m.</h2>
<p>Join us for an introduction to silk shading embroidery. We will be stitching a violet flower on a cotton zippered pencil case with silk/wool blend threads. During the workshop we will learn the basic techniques for silk shading and apply them while stitching this small project.&nbsp;</p>
