Linda Liang is the new Development Assistant at the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society. Linda has been passionate about Lake Forest history for many, many years after reading an article about the Edith Rockefeller Estate in Lake Forest when she was eleven years old. She became enamored with the beautiful gardens and fountains which were original to the estate. From the south side of Chicago, Linda began studying Lake Forest and amassed a book collection about Lake Forest and Chicago houses and gardens. She was the first member to join the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society while living in Chicago and has been a member over 25 years.
Linda is a Lake Forest resident with two grown stepsons. She has had a versatile professional career, beginning in the Elementary Schools as a child psychologist. She then worked in human resources, which led to a career as a consultant at Ernst & Young. She has, most recently, been the Department Chair for the Ph.D. Program in Organizational Leadership and also in Development and External Relations for the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has served on the Alumni Board of Directors for the Illinois Institute of Technology.
In addition, she has served as a consultant in areas of leadership assessment, development, training and executive coaching. She has given numerous speeches on leadership, and appeared on the Channel 2 10 pm news in a segment entitled “Negotiating Know-How”. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
She is most interested in architecture, house and family histories. She is also passionate about golf, reading, hiking and improvisation. She is a graduate of the “Second City” school of improvision, and has performed on the main stage at Second City. She is delighted to be part of the team at the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society and is enthusiastic about its future goals and plans.
