Star 99.9 Goodwill Trick or Treat Day

The Star 99.9 Goodwill Trick or Treat Day is back! Join us Saturday, October 17 at the Sacred Heart University’s Discovery...

As the autumn air turns crisp, the Museum of Darien invites the community to step back in time for a festive evening of history and warmth at Tavern Night. On Saturday, October 17th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the museum grounds will come alive with the glow of a crackling bonfire and the spirit of colonial hospitality.
For one night only, the historic Bates-Scofield House—a stunning example of local heritage—will be transformed into a lively tavern. Guests can gather within its storied walls, where the bar will be serving a selection of wine and beer, alongside a variety of sandwiches. The evening offers a rare chance to experience the house’s timeless charm, from the glow of its historic hearths to the intimate, welcoming atmosphere of a bygone era.
Just steps away, the rustic Scofield Barn will be open for visitors to explore. The barn’s weathered beams provide a fitting backdrop for the current exhibit, "War Comes to Middlesex," offering a poignant look at the area’s past. This groundbreaking exhibition offers a fresh perspective on how the Revolutionary War shaped our community.
Whether you are drawn by the flicker of the bonfire on the front lawn or the chance to toast with friends in a colonial setting, it promises to be an unforgettable night under the stars. Join us for a celebration of local history and the simple joys of a New England autumn.
To register for this event ($40), please visit museumofdarien.org.To find out more, call 203.655.9233. The Museum of Darien is located at 45 Old King’s Highway in Darien, CT.

“Why Are Women So Hard On Themselves?” Are you tired of beating yourself up? Most women assume that harsh inner voice is just part of who they are. It isn't. As Dr. Holmberg explains, it's a deeply rooted survival mechanism that can be changed. In Unkind Mind, she offers a science-based path to quiet your inner critic, silence negativity, stop constant comparison, and replace self-criticism with confidence, courage, and self-compassion.
$30 includes talk, book, wine & charcuterie.
