Mark is Corporate Chairman of The TSETSE Gallery Inc., a regional non-profit company (501c3) based in Providence RI, that works to build community in its locations using the arts and its galleries. This is done through classes, especially with children, through exhibitions, and through community building projects. TSETSE works from two principle values: 1) All People Count, and 2) When In Community, We Thrive.<br><br>Community Development is Mark&#39;s third career. Previously he was a computer company executive in sales and marketing, and before that a Theoretical Physicist doing equation work on nuclear weapons.<br><br>Mark&#39;s undergraduate degree is from Holy Cross College in Math and Physics, Graduate in Math and Computer Science at the University of New Mexico, MBA work at Clark University, and Executive Education Program at Penn State, and International Business Resident Program at INSEAD in Fontainbleau France.<br><br>Mark&#39;s Interests include: flatwater kayaking, boating and sailing, Master Scuba Diver,and have included hang gliding, parachuting, skiing (alpine and x-c), and road racing (with Ferraris). He loves traveling and has visited much of the planet for both business and pleasure.<br><br>Mark is from the Lumbee tribe of Native Americans in Pembroke, NC, although he was raised as an inner city kid in Springfield MA. He grew up knowing he was part Native American. His father was an orphan, and Mark discovered he was primarily Lumbee through DNA testing. It came out strongly as his primary genetic identity. Mark matches the tribe better than 75% of the tribes members supplying the DNA sampling.<br><br>Mark and Leslie Karen Hammond, were married September 27, 2011 in Taos NM. They live in New London CT.
