The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) is a dynamic nonprofit which manages the Jay Estate in Rye, New York. The 23-acre park that they have preserved and interpreted since 1992 is an award-winning culture hub and wildlife refuge on Long Island Sound. Located in the heart of Westchester’s only National Historic Landmark District, the site welcomes visitors April through November to learn about our nation’s flawed yet precious democracy through indoor and outdoor public programs. Offerings about American History feature prominent writers and educators. Free horticulture and birding workshops teach guests about native plants and wildlife. Family-friendly concerts draw hundreds for old-fashioned fun and unplugged enjoyment. The site is a member of NY State's Path Through History and Westchester County's African American Heritage Trail. Church of the Heavenly Rest

Don't miss this unique and wonderful operatic work first performed 100 years ago and recently rediscovered. In honor of the 800th anniversary of St. Francis, patron saint of animals, nature and peace, Canterbury Choral Society will perform the Oratorio this Sunday October 25th with professional soloists, chorus and full orchestra. One performance only! Popular Tenor Blake Friedman sings the part of St. Francis.
In 1916 The American Press described the work as "sublime, with passages of extraordinary beauty". Canterbury conductor Jonathan De Vries confirmed "This is a beautiful work in the Italian operatic tradition, very lyrical, with moving arias and choral interludes." First performed in October 1916 by the Metropolitan Opera at Carnegie Hall, the Oratorio was lost until 2006. Tickets are $35, booked in advance through Eventbrite.com or $40 cash at the door. For more information about this unique work and the story of how it was rediscovered go to www.canterburychoral.org.

'The Most Electrifying Party In Town' FORBES
'This new underground jazz speakeasy is the epitome of cool' TIMEOUT
Address: 36th Street, 3 W 36th St., New York, NY, 10018

Descend into New York's coolest speakeasy, where the walls hum and the night bends.Daddy Rabbit takes over Berimbau Second Floor on Halloween night, and the music you love sounds even better under a roomful of ghouls. The same amazing live sound, the same warm groove that gets into your bones, now with extra mystery moving through the crowd.
Come as the thing that lives in your imagination: the cape, the crown, the glittering, the grim.
The band will play and the floor will fill. A vampire will dance with a disco queen. A pirate will lose his heart to a skeleton. Somewhere near the bar, an angel and a devil will share a table and a laugh, and nobody will think it strange.
Daddy Rabbit isn't a show — it's a living, breathing organism of sound. Classically trained pianists trade fire with bassists who groove like it's gospel. Horn players wail beside jazz singers who whisper and roar in the same breath. MCs spit truth while beatboxers conjure entire rhythm sections from nothing but air and instinct.
No two nights are alike. This is a carousel that never stops turning — a rotating cast of world-class musicians spinning original compositions alongside daring reinventions of Soul, Jazz, Rock, Funk, and RnB classics you thought you knew.
Come hungry for something you can't name yet. Leave changed.
This is Daddy Rabbit. Get in before the door closes.
Doors 7m. Show 8pm
See You There
