Murph's Gift of Music, Neighbor

The Michael J. Murphy Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that holds the belief that music can inspire everyone. Entering its fifth year, the Fund continues the mission to provide music related lessons and instruments to children from families that do not have the financial means to provide this opportunity. Backed by the tireless efforts of the Board of Directors, and the support of local businesses, individual donations, and a host volunteers who donate their time and effort, the Fund has awarded over 200 scholarships to help nurture the talents of young musicians, dancers and singers in the Southwest Chicagoland area. The application process is open each year from February 1 through April 15. Each award consists of up to 40 private lessons and an instrument if needed.
