Cathedral of St John

<a href="https://emilylevinharp.com/ensembles/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">EMBER</a>, the acclaimed ensemble of Emily Levin (harp), Julia Choi (violin), and Christine Lamprea (cello), is a trio of modern trailblazers championing new works by living composers and forging paths of connection and community through intimate, personalized concert experiences. Ember formed in 2023 with their debut performance in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where the trio taught masterclasses at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico and performed their first concert together, including the world premiere of a commission by Angélica Negrón.
Ember released its debut album Birds of Paradise on Azica Records in September 2025. This bold new recording celebrates both historical and contemporary women composers while addressing the cultural significance of the contributions of women in classical music.&nbsp;
Ember comprises Emily Levin, principal harpist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and returning guest artist for Friends of Cathedral Music; Julia Choi, first violinist at the Metropolitan Opera; and cellist Christine Lamprea, winner of the Sphinx Medal of Excellence.

The Cathedral of St. John in Albuquerque, New Mexico, houses the largest pipe organ in the state, the <a href="https://agoabq.org/nm-organs/cathedral-of-st-john/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Reuter Opus 2210</a>. Installed in 2001 and expanded in 2002, this 3-manual, 65-rank, 3,800-pipe instrument replaced the original 1952 Reuter Opus 918, incorporating most of its pipework.

Join us on All Saints’ Sunday for an afternoon celebrating the musical works of Benjamin Britten on the 50th anniversary of his death. Guest organist Richard Gowers, Organist &amp; Director of Music at St. George’s Hanover Square, London, joins The Cathedral Choirs, a chamber orchestra led by concertmaster Carmelo de los Santos, all under the baton of Maxine Thévenot.
All are invited to attend a pre-concert lecture by Professor Bruce Redford on Benjamin Britten held in Kaseman Hall at 2:00 – 2:45 PM. Limited seating is available.
Repertoire of Benjamin Britten:&nbsp; Missa Brevis in D Prelude and fugue on a theme by Vittoria – organ solo played by Richard Gowers Te deum in C&nbsp; Jubilate deo in C Sinfonietta Rejoice in the Lamb – (orchestration by Imogen Holst)
