Princeton Comic Makers presents: JERSEY ART MEETUPS (JAM), a weekly social event connecting creatives within the greater Central Jersey area through a shared passion for sequential art and new media. Attendees may use this open workshop space to draw, write, and develop their own artwork, with an opportunity to receive peer review and feedback from other members if desired. Illustrators, animators, writers, and generalists are all welcome to join and discuss their art and career goals, share learning resources, promote current projects, or find friends and collaborators. Together, we aspire to cultivate a local community that keeps artists motivated towards achieving their dreams! <ul><li>Open to ages 16+ of any skill level interested in any form of narrative art and design (i.e. Animation, Concept Art, Comics, Game Design, Picture Books, etc.)</li><li>Group meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm. Casual attendance is accepted!</li><li>Bringing own materials is highly encouraged. Some basic materials are provided – paper, pencils, etc. – but please bring any tools necessary to help you create (i.e. drawing tablets, sketchbooks, etc.) </li></ul>

<h4>The choir you didn’t know you needed.</h4>
 Pop-Up Choir Princeton is an&nbsp;all-ages&nbsp;community singing experience where families, neighbors, and music-lovers come together to sing pop songs in harmony — no auditions, no pressure, just joy.
<ul><li>Kids and parents sing side-by-side</li><li>Adults who “used to sing” feel safe to try again</li><li>First-time singers get to experience the magic of choir</li></ul>
Sing shortened versions of well-loved pop songs arranged with easy-to-follow harmonies.
Rather than being divided by age or gender, singers choose the range that feels best for their voice: Low, Middle, or High.
Families sit together and work as a team — either choosing to all sing the same part or challenge each other to sing in harmony.
There will also be moments where singers can volunteer to sing a short line of the melody on their own. If you feel inspired, just raise your hand when prompted and you can try the melody while the choir supports you.
<h4> A screen-free singing experience:</h4>
 Pop-Up Choir Princeton is intentionally phone-free and screen-free. Instead of staring at iPads or projectors, everyone receives a simple lyric sheet and learns the music together by ear and by voice — the way humans have always sung. This keeps the focus on listening, connection, and the shared energy of singing in the same room.

Join us for a ‘quick pickle’ workshop hosted by master food preserver, Kim Rizk of Jammin’ Crepes and get inspired to create beautiful &amp; delicious jars of pickled produce to enjoy with friends and family. 
Learn quick &amp; easy ways to preserve the crunch &amp; add a burst of exciting flavor to a wide variety of local summer crops. Kim will share tips and tricks for extending the enjoyment of summer flavors well into the wintertime.
Participants will enjoy small bites, take-home recipes, and will leave the evening with pickled vegetables you make in class inside a special gifted jar.

Have a stack of art supplies collecting dust? Looking to make your existing artistic process more social?
If you’re ready to tackle a craft and enjoy the company of other creative-minded folks, join us in the Craft Corner for an evening of casual art-making. This is an open space to use freely – bring your watercolor set, coloring book, sewing machine, polymer clay – and get to work! If you’re between projects, you’re welcome to bring a book, a puzzle to work on with the group, or anything that will spark your creativity.
Ages 18+. This is a non-instructional gathering and attendees are responsible for bringing their own projects to work on. Please be mindful and avoid turpentine or other odorous materials. BYOB + snacks welcome!

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: Echoes in Our Bones will explore how themes of identity, history, and cultural resilience have endured and transformed across generations. The exhibition examines how these artists have explored and expanded the ideals articulated in the Declaration of Independence, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”, using art as a powerful vehicle for expression, resistance, care, and community. Pairings of artists from past and present generations will include Faith Ringgold and Bisa Butler, Selma Burke and Allison Saar, Mary Lovelace O’Neal and Julie Mehretu, Betye Saar and Tschabalala Self, Carrie Mae Weems and LaToya Ruby Frazier, Laura Wheeler Waring and Jordan Casteel, Elizabeth Catlett and Kara Walker, and Howardena Pindell and Shinique Smith. Through these connections, the exhibition will not only showcase individual artistic voices but also trace a lineage of creative expression that has contributed to shaping and defining American art.

JOINT EFFORT SAFE STREETS COMMUNITY SPORTS ALERTJoint Effort Community Sports Program in conjunction with the Princeton Recreation Department, Princeton Police Department, PBA #130 and the Bailey Basketball Academy(BBA) will offer a free two day of hoops skills and shooting instruction on Saturday, August 8 from 9:00-12noon and youth challenge games on Sunday August 9th from 10am-7pm at the Community Park Basketball Courts, 372 Witherspoon Street[In the Back of the School]. This youth sports community engagement initiative is a part of the Joint Effort Princeton Witherspoon Jackson Community Safe Streets Summer Program scheduled from Friday, July 31st - Sunday, August 9th. The clinic will be directed by Bailey Basketball Academy Founder and top NBA hoop clinician, Kamau Bailey. Bailey is no stranger to the Princeton/Mercer County hoops community having coached locally at PDS and Stuart, ran the 76'ers summer youth basketball&nbsp; camps, as well as BBA and the Shot King Advanced Shooting Instructional Program(the premiere shooting program in NJ). He will be&nbsp;assisted by members of the Princeton&nbsp;Police Department and area coaches. Attendees at the Saturday, August 8th clinic will get individual skill development opportunities in ball handling, shooting, offense and defense, mental preparation, team play and a souvenir sports bag. In commenting on the clinic, Kamau Bailey said, "I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the town and the young people. Giving my time to youth hoops sports in Princeton during the annual Joint Effort summer program is an honor and I am excited to be directing this clinic for my Dad and the community as well as working with the Recreation and Police Department to share my hoop expertise with area players, coaches and families." The Sunday, August 9th Joint Effort Pete Young Sr. &amp; John Young&nbsp; Memorial Summer Youth Basketball&nbsp;Challenge Games&nbsp;will be held from 10:00am-7:00pm and will feature Princeton area youth and student athletes. Further, on Saturday, August 1st, there will be a Joint Effort History &amp; Pigskin Legends Recognition Program for the Joint Effort Princeton Witherspoon Jackson Community All Time Greatest Football Team, Most Valuable Players and Coach (See Attachment) at 4:00pm in the Elks Lodge, 124 Birch Avenue.
