Micha Abeles M.D., Neighbor

Micha Abeles M.D. has been a respected mentor to rheumatologists nationwide and continues to share his experience and expertise 40 years later. During his years as a professor of medicine, Micha Abeles M.D. established quite the reputation as a groundbreaking researcher. Throughout his decades of practice, Micha oversaw numerous clinical trials leading to the development of significant arthritis and fibromyalgia medications that are still in use today. During this time, Micha was able to conduct some original research of his which ultimately lead way to him being a co-author of a groundbreaking 1990 fibromyalgia criteria paper, which was the first study that was able to fully define the syndrome.

Today, Micha Abeles M.D. owns a private practice along with his son. He still remains active in the community by serving on several medical boards such as the Connecticut Rheumatology Association, the Lupus Foundation of America, the American College of Rheumatology, the Fibromyalgia Multicenter Criteria Committee, and the Fibromyalgia Prevalence Committee. In addition Micha Abeles M.D. holds fellowships with the American College of Physicians and American College of Rheumatology, and holds active memberships of the New York Academy of Science, the State of Connecticut Medical Society, Hartford County Medical Society, and New Haven County Medical Society.
