Michael Callahan, Community Contributor

Michael Callahan is a candidate for the Lakewood Board of Education, appearing on the ballot November 2019.

Michael and his wife Kristyn are lifelong Lakewood residents. They have three children, ages 9, 7 and 3. The older children attend the Lakewood City Schools, and the third will attend soon.

Michael is a community leader, involved in block club, church leadership, and a past member of the city's Active Living Task Force. He is also a volunteer coach with the Lakewood Community Baseball Association as well as a volunteer at other school and community events and functions.

For the majority of his career Michael has worked as a public sector manager, and currently works for the City of Bedford Parks & Recreation Department. He spent nearly ten years working full time with the Lakewood Community Recreation & Education Department. He has an undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Akron. In between public sector jobs he spent several years in commercial retail banking.
