Middlebury Elementary School

On November 14 from 11 to noon at Middlebury Elementary School, the Middlebury Elementary School/ Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will be holding our annual drive-through “Stuff the Bus—Give Thanks Food Drive.”
The PTO is partnering with the First Student bus company, Middlebury Elementary School and Middlebury Mentors for the food drive.
“We reached out to First Student to see if they’d be interested in helping us again this year, and, without hesitation, they said they’d be happy to provide a school bus for the food drive,” said Michele Dunn, Middlebury Elementary School PTO. “We’re all looking forward to helping our local food bank/community pantry, and we’re inviting the entire community to come take part in this drive-through event.”
Items needed for the “Stuff the Bus—Give Thanks Food Drive” include pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, canned tuna, soups (chicken and vegetable), canned suppers (stew and chili/chef boyardee) rice boxes or bags, mashed potatoes (box or packages), pasta, pasta sauce, cereal, cake or cookie mix, frosting and lunchbox snacks. Non food items needed include shampoo (child/adult), deodorant and soap (adult/child).
Cash or gift cards will also be accepted.

Join Sustainable Southbury for a FREE screening of The Plastic Detox, an eye-opening new documentary film that explains what microplastics and their chemicals are doing to our health. Chemicals found in plastics have been associated with cancer, nervous system damage, hormone disruption, obesity, and fertility issues.
This documentary follows the research of Dr. Swan and other experts in the field, covering the impact on human development. The film features six couples with unexplained infertility who embark on a bold plastic detox of their homes; it changes their lives, health, and families forever.
The film will be followed by a discussion on how to reduce your plastic exposure and take matters into our own hands.
