PANACEA, popular 1970s band reunited in 2013 for the "Great Newtown Reunion, a&nbsp;day of Healing"&nbsp;following the Sandy Hook School tragedy, and band members have hosted this informal reunion in Newtown's Dickinson Park almost every year since.&nbsp;&nbsp;
 This year’s lineup includes original Panacea members Corky Ballard bass, vocals; Leslie Ballard flute, vocals; with guests longtime Panacea keyboardist Christian Martirano; Tony Traina, drums; Jim Lynch, guitar; Steve Moran, sax; and Austen Lesu trumpet. Sound by Thunder &amp; Lighting Productions. (Other original members: Rick Kuhn, Jon Dodson, Mat Harris, and Bruce Tibbitts.)&nbsp;
 Clearheart Construction Co. generously supported the reunion this year, and in several past years, helping to keep our community connected.
In 1970, Panacea won the All-State Battle of the Bands, featuring a program of original music written by Corky Ballard and drummer Rick Kuhn. The group became a popular staple for proms, dances, reunions, and weddings.
 Nonperishable items will be collected for Panacea’s Annual Bridget Seaman FAITH Food Pantry Drive. Bridget ran the collection table, and it was named in her honor on her passing.
Guests are welcome to bring nonalcoholic beverages, but grilling is not allowed. Guests are reminded that glass containers and pets are not permitted in the park, with the exception of identified service dogs.

This FREE&nbsp;community event brings us together to hear from powerful voices, walk in solidarity, and create luminaries as a symbol of remembrance for those impacted by suicide. We will close the event by lighting our candles together and sharing a moment of connection. This event is open to all-teams, groups, families, and individuals. Come be a part of an evening where together we become beacons of hope and awareness.&nbsp;
