MY STORY: I’m Mike Berg, co-owner of Berg Properties and a full-time Illinois Realtor (IL #475114838) with 14 years as a former licenced appraiser. serving DuPage County, Burr Ridge, Willowbrook, and Chicago’s Western Suburbs.

My mission is simple: give people the kind of real estate guidance I wish I had when I first started out—clear, honest, knowledgeable, and focused entirely on the client’s needs, not the industry’s habits.

My path into real estate wasn’t typical. After a serious car accident and years of rehab, I realized what matters most: people, not spreadsheets. That shift eventually pushed me from IT into appraising, and then into real estate, because I wanted work that actually helped people through real decisions.

When I was finally able to walk again, I knew I wanted a career with real purpose. Something grounded in real conversations, real families, and real financial decisions. That led me deeper into real estate, then into appraisal work, and ultimately to building Berg Properties with my cousin Scott. We wanted to create the kind of company we believed people deserved: honest, responsive, hands-on, and completely focused on the client’s needs.

WHY I SERVE CHICAGO’S WESTERN SUBURBS:

I spent 14 years as a licensed residential and commercial appraiser before becoming a full-time real estate advisor and consultant. That background still shapes everything I do—how I value homes, how I advise clients on improvements, how I read the market, and how I negotiate.

Today, with over 21 years in real estate, I’ve helped more than 2,000 buyers and sellers across Chicago’s Western Suburbs achieve their goals. That includes first-time buyers, luxury sellers, families relocating into or out of the area, and people navigating major life transitions such as probate or selling a parent’s house.

My work is built around better guidance and better results, with a focus on valuation, negotiation, and helping clients make real estate decisions that support long-term wealth-building.
