Mike Cooney, Neighbor

Mike Cooney is the writer of the Grow Your Group Blog, which helps volunteers and nonprofit professionals by providing them with useful content 3-5 times each week. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University.

While at Northeastern, he worked in the Sports Information Department. There he got athletes covered in such national media as Sports Illustrated and ESPN.

He spent ten years as an executive with the Boy Scouts of America, serving first in northern Maine at the Katahdin Area Council, and later with the Connecticut Rivers Council. In those capacities, he recruited thousands of new youth into the program. In addition, he's also the Vice-President of the Norwich Noontime Rotary Club
