Mike Sandula, Neighbor

I stumbled into journalism late and kind of by accident. The high school I went to didn&#39;t have a student paper and I seldom ventured outside the comics page of The Detroit News my parents occasionally picked up on Sundays.<br> <br>After two years at Oakland University, I was still an undecided major. On a whim, I took the introductory newswriting course. The following semester, I took all journalism classes, started working at The Oakland Post and never looked back.<br> <br>A few years and internships later, I am now furnished with a degree in journalism. I believe in the power of both public interest stories and interesting stories about the public. When not being a newsie — yes, I&#39;ve migrated beyond comics — I enjoy drumming, reading and avoiding writing autobiographies.
