Join us for an in-person presentation about the archive at Clay Art Center, presented by Kelsie Dalton, curator of the current exhibition Finding The Center and archivist. The event takes place on Tuesday, May 19th from 5:00-6:00pm at the Clay Art Center Gallery.
Archival materials - the letters, photographs, brochures, ticket stubs, and other odds and ends that form a record of existence - provide a window into the world of the past. With nearly 70 years of history, the Clay Art Center archives are rich in documentation of the people and ideas that have laid the foundation of our community. This presentation will give an overview of materials in the archive, dig into some of the unique records that informed Finding The Center, take a look at other rarely-scene materials, and dive deeper into the history of Clay Art Center.
This presentation is free and open to the public, and guests are encouraged to come early to view Finding The Center in the Gallery.

Join exhibiting artist Jon Townley at Clay Art Center Gallery for an intimate discussion on his solo exhibition <a href="https://www.clayartcenter.org/made-in-earnest-ceramic-work-by-jon-townley" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Made In Earnest</a>. This solo exhibition presents handmade ceramic sculpture and pottery, and is the inaugural exhibition in Clay Art Center’s Curator’s Choice series. “Nearly everything I make has certain core themes in common. These include my fascination with how the forces of wind, water and erosion sculpt stone, my wonderment at the forms inside sea shells, my curiosity about the growth patterns of trees and plants, and my delight in the convolutions and articulations of bones. While I’ve spent much of my life working as a professional illustrator and designer, in my ceramics I rarely apply traditional decorative effects or graphic imagery, preferring instead to enliven my pieces primarily through form and sculptural gesture.” - Jon Townley
The artist talk will discuss Jon’s studio practice, inspirations, and signature techniques for making both his sculptural and functional works.

Together, our work is a testament to the power of clay to evoke life in infinite shapes. At the core of this collection is the same malleable yet basic element, but from which three vastly different journeys have sprung: a mystical, fanciful corner of queer joy; a dystopian space between the familiar and unknown; and a surrealist imagining of a rainbow under the sea. Our manifestations of texture, color, and form mark the edges of the distinct worlds we’ve forged, which share no more than the most important similarity: a common life force.La House of Objects en el Orbital Alvaro Villa
ALVARO as Ceramic Brujo welcomes viewers into La House of Objects en el Orbital and navigate a space where a kiln and a witch’s cauldron become one and a series of devotional sacred objects are meditative and ritualistic. La House of Objects en el Orbital puts forth the art and magic of the object, tool and planning process of Alvaro's ceramic artworks. In this exhibition Alvaro celebrates the objects, tools, sketches and anything that helps his art making progress in a series of brick red ceramics and mixed media sculptural works. The tools that orbit the ceramic studio are made again with a magical blend of ceramic craft and subversive reimagining.Clay Art Center’s Residency Program
Clay Art Center’s nationally recognized artist-in-residence program was started in 1998 by Director Emeritus Reena Kashyap. The Residency program, which commences each year in September, is designed for emerging artists to have the time and space to develop their voices. Residents gain invaluable experience working in a community environment, teaching classes, sharing their technical knowledge and expertise, and managing many jobs around the studio. Through a competitive process, these artists come to Port Chester from across the country and are now thriving in their careers around the globe. <a href="https://www.clayartcenter.org/artist-residencies" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Learn More</a>.

The Junior League of Greenwich is thrilled to announce the return of their beloved Touch A Truck event! This year’s family-fun extravaganza will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 (from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm) at Greenwich Town Hall (101 Field Point Road), rain or shine.
Early Access for Sensory Needs: The JLG understands that loud noises and bright lights can be overwhelming for some children. To ensure an inclusive event, they’ll be offering a reduced sensory experience from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. During this time, families can explore the various trucks and vehicles in a smaller setting with limited sounds and lights.
VIP Experience: Doors open EARLY for VIP ticket holders at 9 am. Get early access to Touch a Truck! Receive an exciting gift bag filled with Touch a Truck goodies!
Throughout the day, children will have the chance to fulfill their dreams of climbing aboard a fire truck, honking the horn of a dump truck, or even taking a ride on a miniature train. From fan-favorite Greenwich Department of Public Works trucks to fire engines, police cars, and ambulances, there will be something for everyone to explore.
