The New York Aquarium is owned and operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), which is committed to connecting New Yorkers to ocean wildlife.
Located on the Coney Island boardwalk, the aquarium is home to over 350 species of marine wildlife. Spanning 14 acres, visitors can explore immersive exhibits, both below and above sea level. The award-winning Ocean Wonders: Sharks! exhibit features over 115 marine species, including 18 different kinds of sharks and rays. While the newest exhibit, Spineless showcases the weird and wonderful invertebrates of our oceans. Outdoors along the rocky cliffs of Sea Cliffs, visitors can encounter sea lions, harbor seals, penguins and sea otters. While at the Aquatheater, visitors can learn about sea lions from sea lions.
