Opera Oggi New York, Neighbor

In our 8th season, opera oggi ("today" in italian) new york is a singer run opera company whose mission it is to bring opera to NYC neighborhoods while giving precious performing opportunities to young singing artists. Founded in 2007 by Artistic Director Thomas Lawrence Toscano, Music Director Bill Lewis and Vocal Director Chloe Owen, (now deceased) they began to create more and more opportunities for many singers who now work in Europe. In 2008 Maestro Toscano spearheaded a movement to revive the McCaddin Memorial Theater in Williamsburg, and in 2009 he began the initiative, "Walk to the Opera". The wonderful company is now in Residence at the CO-Cathedral of St. Joseph, in Prospect Heights.
