For six years during the late 1800s, this so-called "hobo" hiked the same, 364-mile, circuitous route every 34 days like clockwork. Residents could predict when he would return to their town. Wearing a self-made suit of leather, from head to toe, he conversed with no one and slept in caves. And, we still don't know who he was. But, people loved him.

I shouldn’t have agreed to this. What was I thinking? Appearing on a local news show? Just because something happened to me? I live mostly in isolation on purpose. But here I am. And then I walked past his room. He’s a giant—no softness, all muscle. He made me see stars, literally because the second time I saw him, I tripped. Or I would’ve, but he caught me, and the cameras were rolling. He’s Brett Broudou, the Kings’ newest football star. We couldn’t be more opposite. Brett, the Super Bowl champion, and me, the survivor who helped bring down the infamous Midwest Butcher. Brett might not think he’s anyone’s hero, but he’s about to become mine.

Long Island Sound

The 44th Annual WICC Surfside Hotel <a href="https://www.bluefishtournament.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth</a> returns to Long Island Sound on Saturday, August 29, with fishing officially beginning at 12:01 a.m. Anglers from Connecticut and New York will compete for bragging rights—and a $25,000 grand prize awarded to the tournament's largest bluefish.
The weekend-long tournament features more than $40,000 in total cash prizes, including:
<ul>
 <li>1st Place: $25,000</li>
 <li>2nd Place: $7,500</li>
 <li>3rd Place: $2,500</li>
 <li>Smaller cash prizes awarded through 20th Place</li>
 <li>Port Prizes awarded for the heaviest bluefish weighed at each official Connecticut and New York weigh station (see below for complete list of weigh stations)</li>
</ul>
Young anglers, 17 and under, will also have the chance to win big. The tournament will award a $1,000 cash prize to the largest bluefish caught by a youth angler. Second and third place youth winners will receive $100 gift cards.
Anglers may register online at <a href="https://www.bluefishtournament.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">www.bluefishtournament.com</a>&nbsp;or in person at any official tournament registration location throughout Connecticut and New York/Long Island.
