Old Burying Ground

The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council and the North Fork Community Theatre will host their annual tour of the Old Cutchogue Burying Ground on Saturday, October 3, 2026, (rain date Oct. 4th)

The tour begins at a booth on the northwest corner of the Old Burial Ground at 32770 Main Road (corner of Main Road and Harbor Lane). Actors in period costumes recount the life stories of historic figures who are buried in the graveyard.

“Widow guides” dressed in Victorian mourning costumes will guide visitors through the burial ground, where the costumed actors will recount the lives of notable figures in Cutchogue’s history while standing atop their graves. The notables include a veteran of the French-Indian War, an exiled Tory, a beloved school teacher, people who were enslaved, and many more who were responsible for forming Cutchogue as we know it today. This year, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, we will feature Revolutionary War Veterans buried at the site. The tour will include a brief history of the burial site, and Mary Kalich, a member of the board of directors of the Theatre will give a brief history of the theater and tell how it was once a church.

Tours will start at 2 pm. Tour groups of a maximum of 20 people will be scheduled in 10-minute intervals. Hallockville Museum Farm, the 28-acre preserved farm homestead on Long Island’s North Fork invites the public to celebrate farm life, local history and culture, and community spirit at its 45th Annual Hallockville Country Fair, on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Hallockville Country Fair offers visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in Long Island’s family farm heritage, from livestock and tractors to handicrafts and historic home tours. Family-friendly activities will take place throughout the Hallockville Museum Farm property and the adjacent Long Island Antique Power Association grounds. In appreciation to the community, Hallockville will offer half-price admission to the fair on Sunday morning between 10 a.m. and noon. Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead.
