<p><b>ABOUT CETA &amp; THE EXHIBITION</b></p>
<p>Between 1974 and 1981, the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) placed more than 30,000 artists and cultural workers on local government payrolls in nearly 200 cities, towns, and Indigenous territories across the United States. Though largely forgotten today, the program represented one of the most ambitious federal investments in cultural labor since the New Deal, reshaping local cultural infrastructure and supporting artists working in communities across the country.</p>
<p><b><i>ART/WORK: The Practice and Politics of CETA and the Arts, 1974–1981</i></b> is the first major exhibition to examine the national impact and lasting legacy of the CETA arts programs. Drawing upon more than a decade of research and an extensive oral history archive, the exhibition brings together artworks, photographs, films, publications, administrative records, and ephemera to reconstruct a history that has remained surprisingly absent from both public memory and art historical discourse.</p>

<p><b><i>Sense &amp; the City: Exploring New York City Through the Five Senses</i></b> is a multisensory exhibit presenting nearly two hundred places around the five boroughs that Caitlin has explored over eighteen years of writing her City Lore blog. Each place is featured with a photograph and brief excerpt from the blog. The show also includes multisensory, interactive elements drawn from Caitlin’s experiences: scratch-and-sniff scent strips of New York City smells, from the balsam of sidewalk Christmas tree stands to the brine of a Bronx pickle factory; a “tactile rail” of objects that visitors can touch, including dirt from Aqueduct Racetrack and a basket Caitlin wove from Staten Island’s invasive vines; foods from around the five boroughs (at the opening only); and a guest residency by the Surround Sounds Piano_QNS, an upright piano that has been retrofitted by local artists Arthur Fleischmann and Daniel Giachetti so each key plays a singular sound collected from the borough of Queens.</p>

<p>Learn how to exercise safely with osteoporosis and osteopenia while building strength, balance, and mobility in this three-part workshop series.</p>
<p>Each session includes expert guidance on bone health, osteoporosis care, balance, strengthening, and nutrition, followed by a movement class led by a master Pilates and yoga instructor. Participants will leave with practical tools to support bone health and overall well-being in a supportive environment.</p>

<p>On September 11, 2001, Feal rushed to Ground Zero to aid in the recovery effort.
