Join local award-winning artist Nina Yocom in this beginner-friendly workshop from 10:00-1:00 at Chester Springs Studios where participants will explore the magic of working with alcohol inks. 
In this workshop students will: 
Begin by working on a blank 6" x 6" white ceramic tile focusing on the intuitive nature of inks and the fine balance between controlling the inks using a variety of tools and allowing the painting to process.
Apply inks to a number of different surfaces including a variety of synthetic papers, canvas and panels. 
Learn to use tools such as paint brushes, foam brushes, and cool airflow to move and control the inks. 
All tools and materials are provided for a $35 fee payable to the instructor.

Our Intuitive Abstract Painting with Alcohol Inks workshop is perfect for someone who has no experience to someone who wants more experience using a variety of different surfaces and tools.
In this class, you will begin by working on a blank 6″ x 6″ ceramic tile, exploring the intuitive nature of inks and the fine balance between controlling them and allowing the painting to process naturally. From there, you will apply inks to a variety of surfaces including synthetic papers and canvas, using tools such as paintbrushes, foam brushes, and cool air flow to move and manipulate the inks.
The class concludes with a thorough review of how to finish your work, with a focus on colorfastness and longevity, and you will go home with several frame-worthy pieces of your own creation.

This workshop using alcohol inks is perfect for someone who has no experience to someone who wants more experience using a variety of different surfaces and tools.&nbsp; Even if you have already taken one of our alcohol inks at the studio, you can always learn more!Alcohol inks are bright, beautiful, and flowing. They need special techniques to achieve certain "looks". They are unique in that they look best when controlled loosely and Nina is an expert in just that. Nina displays and sells her work in galleries across southeastern Pennsylvania and is excited to teach you how to make the most beautiful art you can.&nbsp; 
All tools and materials are provided.

We invite you to come out to the Paoli Battlefield on Saturday, September 26th, from 11am to 4pm and enjoy this Family Fun event!! Enjoy our American Military Timeline with the help of our friends at Historical Military Impressions. Stroll through each impression and see how the soldiers dressed and what they carried into battle. Feel free to ask questions and learn about our brave fighting veterans.
Stop by and visit with Benjamin Franklin (aka Mike Kochan), as he shows you the experiments that Benjamin Franklin did in the 1700’s. Mike has built replicas of some of his experiments for the Franklin Institute, and the Franklin Court Museum, both in Philadelphia.
Noah Lewis will be there to share the story of Ned Hector, bombardier and member of the Continental army. He helped man the guns and Brandywine and was honored by Norristown naming a street Hector Street.
Visit and enjoy other historical sites as they explain their connection to the history and culture of the area. You’d be surprised how some of these sites were created and what they do to celebrate their special day at their site.
We are very happy to welcome back the USO which has helped support our troops all across the nation. Learn about the great programs they do to help our soldiers and their families.
We will have a food trunk or two to help satisfy your appetite while you soak in the history. We have other crafters, vendors, and others to help you spend the day with us.
To close out the day, we transition to our honor ceremony where we place wreaths at the gravesite of the 52 fallen men of the Battle of Paoli. We will do the wreath laying, firing salute, bagpipes, and taps to help honor these men, and all of our armed forces of the United States of America.
