Oakland Choral Society

Oakland Choral Society has been an educational and performance chorus since 1963 and has promoted the enjoyment and appreciation of choral music as an artistic expression. OCS mission is to provide educational and cultural enrichment for Oakland County and metropolitan Detroit communities. The chorus is committed to the presentation of major classical and contemporary choral works. Members are dedicated to achieving excellence in musical performance and enriching the lives of those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live performances of the classical masters. Oakland Choral Society was originally founded on the Oakland University campus as Oakland University Community Chorus. Over the years the Chorus name changed several times. It became an independent non-profit organization in 2003 and evolved into the Oakland Choral Society in 2007. Chorus members contribute dues and purchase their music. Additional support comes from donors and patrons and is used for hiring soloists and instrumentalists who accompany the choral repertoire. Visit www.oaklandchoralsociety.org for details.
