The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center
(<a href="https://wildliferescuecenter.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">https://wildliferescuecenter.org</a>) is excited to announce its Second Annual Pickleball Tournament, set to take place on Saturday, May 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Southampton Youth Services courts, located at 1370A Majors Path in Southampton.
The tournament will feature teams of two, with participants competing on either co-ed or women’s teams. Players are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for check-in and warm-up, with matches beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Registration is $150 per person. Please note that all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that a registered player is unable to attend, participants are encouraged to contactdevelopment@wildliferescuecenter.org, and organizers will make every effort to match them with another player.
All proceeds support the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured and orphaned wildlife across Long Island.

Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center (<a href="https://www.ewecc.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">www.ewecc.org</a>), will host their annual kick off to summer event “Kites for Kids” on Saturday, May 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m. at Main Beach in East Hampton. All proceeds from the high-flying family-friendly event benefit the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center. 
The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center is a licensed, nonprofit childcare center in East Hampton, open year-round and providing all-day care for working families in our community, with fees among the lowest on Long Island. Fundraising is one way we keep our fees affordable and the quality of education high. Come fly a kite to support keeping childcare affordable for all.

Participants are encouraged to reserve their kite ahead of time and will be able to deck it out at the event with stickers, ribbons, glitter and markers at the kite decorating station. FREE special parking at Main Beach is available for event guests.

Project MOST is excited to announce their summer benefit - Making the MOST of Everyday - which will take place on Sunday, June 28from4-6 p.m.at Moby’s in East Hampton (341 Pantigo Rd.).The benefit will feature an afternoon of celebration and an opportunity to support scholarships, creative learning programs, and honor the champions, advocates, and donors who make Project MOST a cornerstone of youth enrichment in the community.
 
“I am continually inspired by the impact our programs have on young people and families in our community. This event is not just about raising funds; it’s about opening doors. Every dollar helps provide access, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for students who deserve the chance to thrive. We’re so grateful to everyone who joins us in making that possible,” shares Melanie Hayward, Project Most Board President.
As Project MOST marks its 25th anniversary this year, the organization will honor former East End resident Joe O’Connell at its annual summer benefit. Known to many as “Dr. Joe,” he had been a steadfast advocate for Project MOST, providing a generous early donation that helped launch the Springs School after-school program two decades ago.
Following a distinguished career in public education, Dr. Joe dedicated himself to addressing the unmet needs of children and families. He was a founding member of the East Hampton Youth Alliance, which offers young people a safe and supportive place to go after school. He also played a pivotal role in raising $4.4 million for the RecCenter capital campaign—now the East Hampton YMCA—and served as Vice President and Director of Operations from 1993 to 2000, continuing his leadership on the Board of Managers through 2003.
In addition, Dr. Joe founded and led the East End Initiative, which provides scholarships and financial assistance to low-income students, as well as grants to teachers developing innovative educational programs.
“We are thrilled to honor Joe at this year’s event. He was instrumental is getting our after-school program off the ground at Springs School 20 years ago. Dr. Joe had a big place in his heart for Project MOST and dedicated much of his life to supporting community projects. His generosity and commitment to Project MOST has helped shape what Project MOST offers today,” shares Project MOST Executive Director Rebecca Taylor.
The Summer Benefit will take place in the beautiful gardens at Moby’s featuring the soothing sounds of theBillO’Connell Jazz Trio along with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as well as a silent auction and a paddle raise.
