ARTS CENTER AT DUCK CREEK FARM

The Arts Center at Duck Creek (<a href="https://www.duckcreekarts.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.duckcreekarts.org/</a>) is set to host their fourth annual Airing of the Quilts on Saturday, May 2 from 12 to 5 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, May 3. All are welcome to participate in airing their quilts in this celebration of community, creativity and the arrival of spring. This cherished tradition symbolizes the transition from winter into spring. The age-old practice of quilt-making fosters creativity, storytelling and community across generations. 

From 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. participants are invited to come out and hang their quilts for all to see. From 12 – 5 p.m., guests are welcome to walk the grounds and view an array of quilts, new and old, including 3 years of Community Quilts made for this event. 

Duck Creek exhibitor Andrea Cote will lead two Cyanotype Quilt Square Workshops, taking place at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each guest will receive a piece of light-sensitive fabric and create a quilt square, using nothing but objects and sunlight. Finished squares will be sewn together by Louise Eastman to create the 2026 Duck Creek Community Quilt. Additional squares will be available for guests to work on at home. 

“Bringing the Airing of the Quilts tradition to Duck Creek was the inspired vision of local artist Louise Eastman. The event weaves together everything Duck Creek holds dear: community, craft, and the joy of a new season. Everyone is invited to hang their quilts, share the stories behind them, and collaborate on our yearly Community Quilt. Airing of the Quilts Returns to The Arts Center at Duck Creek 

The iconic Gosman’s property is proud to introduce the new Lobster House &amp; Clam Bar for the 2026 season. Inspired by beloved favorites from the former Inlet Café and Clam Bar, the Lobster House will serve fresh, flavorful seafood at its classic waterfront dockside location. Guests can dine by the water or order at the window for a convenient meal to-go. For more than 80 years, Gosman’s has remained dedicated to preserving the relaxed, laid-back Montauk atmosphere that locals and visitors have come to love.
The new Lobster House &amp; Clam Bar will feature seafood classics sourced right from the docks of Montauk, including Lobster Tacos, Pan-Seared Tuna, and Mussels in White Cream Sauce, crafted by the culinary team of Chef Tony Cruz, who brings 15 years of experience at Gosman’s, and Chef Eddie G, a Food Network personality and NFL VIP catering alumnus. The restaurant will be open seven days a week from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with reservations available for parties of eight or more.
The popular Topside Bar is also back for another season. Perched above Montauk Harbor, the Topside Bar offers a breezy, open-air escape with sweeping waterfront views and a relaxed coastal vibe. A favorite among both locals and visitors, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a handcrafted cocktail, a crisp glass of rosé, or an ice-cold beer as boats drift in and out of the marina below. With its casual atmosphere, fresh sea air, and unbeatable sunset views, the Topside Bar captures the easygoing spirit of Montauk at its best. Gosman’s Dock Announces the Debut of the New Lobster House & Clam Bar and the Return of Topside Bar 

The Arts Center at Duck Creek (<a href="https://www.duckcreekarts.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.duckcreekarts.org/</a>) is pleased to present What the Garden Remembers, a solo exhibition by artist Avani Patel. The exhibition will be on display in the Little Gallery from Saturday, May 9 through Sunday, June 14 with an opening reception on May 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. An Artist’s Talk will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 3 p.m. 

Through paintings and drawings, Patel explores the relationship between memory, ecology, and lived experience. Her work draws from early memories of her mother’s garden and natural landscapes, translating these experiences into layered compositions filled with organic forms, rhythmic patterns, and imagined environments. Rooted in both observation and intuition, her practice reflects a deep connection to nature and the ways it is remembered, felt, and reimagined.

"My work explores memory, nature, color, and movement. I grew up in India, and the memory of my mother's garden and my sister's performances are woven deeply into everything I make. When people come to my show, 'What the Garden Remembers,' I want them to connect with the joyfulness in these works, and with the culture that inspired them,” shares Avani Patel.

Patel’s work engages with pattern, repetition, and ornamentation visual languages that echo the structures of the natural world and resonate with the rhythms of the human body. Her paintings invite viewers to slow down and immerse themselves in intricate surfaces where color, line, and texture unfold over time, creating spaces for reflection, curiosity, and connection.

Alongside her studio practice, Patel is actively engaged in public art. She is currently developing a large-scale public installation at the Brooklyn Army Terminal, expanding her exploration of nature into immersive, site-specific environments. In June, she will also complete a mural project in Downtown Brooklyn, further contributing to the city’s cultural landscape through community-centered work. Later this year, Patel will present a solo exhibition at Jamaica Center for Arts &amp; Learning, continuing to expand her practice across both gallery and public contexts. Her work has been widely exhibited and has received critical attention in publications such as Hyperallergic, Artnet, and The Woven Tale Press.

The tournament will feature teams of two, with participants competing on either co-ed or women’s teams. Players are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for check-in and warm-up, with matches beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Registration is $150 per person. Please note that all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Project MOST is excited to announce their summer benefit - Making the MOST of Everyday - which will take place on Sunday, June 28from4-6 p.m.at Moby’s in East Hampton (341 Pantigo Rd.).The benefit will feature an afternoon of celebration and an opportunity to support scholarships, creative learning programs, and honor the champions, advocates, and donors who make Project MOST a cornerstone of youth enrichment in the community.
 
“I am continually inspired by the impact our programs have on young people and families in our community. This event is not just about raising funds; it’s about opening doors. Every dollar helps provide access, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for students who deserve the chance to thrive. We’re so grateful to everyone who joins us in making that possible,” shares Melanie Hayward, Project Most Board President.
As Project MOST marks its 25th anniversary this year, the organization will honor former East End resident Joe O’Connell at its annual summer benefit. Known to many as “Dr. Joe,” he had been a steadfast advocate for Project MOST, providing a generous early donation that helped launch the Springs School after-school program two decades ago.
Following a distinguished career in public education, Dr. Joe dedicated himself to addressing the unmet needs of children and families. He was a founding member of the East Hampton Youth Alliance, which offers young people a safe and supportive place to go after school. He also played a pivotal role in raising $4.4 million for the RecCenter capital campaign—now the East Hampton YMCA—and served as Vice President and Director of Operations from 1993 to 2000, continuing his leadership on the Board of Managers through 2003.
In addition, Dr. Joe founded and led the East End Initiative, which provides scholarships and financial assistance to low-income students, as well as grants to teachers developing innovative educational programs.
“We are thrilled to honor Joe at this year’s event. He was instrumental is getting our after-school program off the ground at Springs School 20 years ago. Dr. Joe had a big place in his heart for Project MOST and dedicated much of his life to supporting community projects. His generosity and commitment to Project MOST has helped shape what Project MOST offers today,” shares Project MOST Executive Director Rebecca Taylor.
The Summer Benefit will take place in the beautiful gardens at Moby’s featuring the soothing sounds of theBillO’Connell Jazz Trio along with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as well as a silent auction and a paddle raise. Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE)(<a href="https://www.cmee.org/en" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.cmee.org/en</a>) has announced they will host their 16th Annual Family Fair on Saturday, July 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The theme of this year’s benefit is ENDLESS SUMMER and will feature arts &amp; crafts, water play, live entertainment, food trucks, candy and access to the CMEE playground. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit CMEE’s food pantry, provide camp scholarships and support outreach initiatives. Goodie bags will be given to all attendees and will feature items from various sponsors. 
The Family Fair is CMEE’s marquee event of the year attracting hundreds of families across the East End. Share the Harvest Farm invites the community to celebrate the start of the season at its Spring Market on Saturday, May 2nd at St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton.
This lively, community-centered event will feature 20 local vendors offering artisan goods, prepared foods, and handmade items. Guests will enjoy live music by Reilly Rose, a curated raffle featuring local experiences and products, and a welcoming space to gather and connect.
Adding to the experience, guests will be able to enjoy “Spring in a Bottle” from Wölffer Estate, served by EAST + PALM to sip while they browse.
The Spring Market serves as an important fundraiser for Share the Harvest Farm, with participating vendors donating 20% of their proceeds to support the farm’s spring start-up costs. These funds help power the farm’s mission of growing and donating fresh, organically grown produce to families across the East End, often within hours of harvest.
