Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children in San Diego County by providing them with volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). We believe that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will review and monitor every court file in the system, provide a CASA to every child in the foster care system who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of San Diego County's foster children. Founded in 1980, Voices for Children, a private, nonprofit organization, has recruited, trained, and supervised thousands of CASAs. These Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are highly trained volunteers who advocate for the rights and well-being of the more than 5,000 children who pass through foster care in San Diego County annually. The children we serve have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Many feel very much alone until they meet their CASA. As the only agency in San Diego County designated by the courts to provide CASAs, Voices for Children has a vision called "Serve Every Child": to provide a CASA to every foster child who needs one.
