This talk will outline the impact of rebuilding 90% of patient care spaces in the hospital, and it will discuss innovation &amp; leading technologies available at the hospital and the hospital’s next major project: the expansion of the John E. Reeves Center for Advanced Surgery. Our speakers are Megan Rosenstein MD, the Interim Chief Medical Officer and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, and Clelia Biamonti, Chief Philanthropy Officer of Overlook Foundation, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center.&nbsp; Clelia has given well-received talks to Old Guard three times in the past. 

The Summit Area Old Guard is a social, educational, and recreational fellowship of active men of retirement age, founded in 1930. We hear presentations most Tuesday mornings in an auditorium in New Providence, and we have many other activities including discussion groups, sports and outdoor groups, and celebrations. Our dues are minimal, and members volunteer for all aspects of the operation. Our motto is "Come for the programs. Stay for the friends”. Enhanced Clinical Excellence at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center & Upcoming Projects 

Guest speaker Ricky Riccardi is a two-time Grammy-winning author and director of research collections for the Louis Armstrong House Museum in Corona, Queens, NY. Not many fans are aware of the circumstances Louis Armstrong had to overcome in his early days. Growing up in the toughest part of New Orleans, Armstrong was lucky to make it out alive, but music found him at an early age and he never looked back. Ricky will tell the tale of Armstrong's early days, as well as his triumphs in Chicago and New York, before he went on to change the world.

He contends that everyone who attends this presentation, regardless of background, will sufficiently understand COBOL and its environment to be able to write a coherent COBOL program, and why that still matters.&nbsp; Ron is a member of Old Guard.

This morning's lead presenter Don MacGowan is a volunteer speaker and program planner at The Seeing Eye®&nbsp;in Morristown, the oldest guide dog school in the world. The Seeing Eye is a philanthropic organization whose mission is to enhance the independence, dignity, and self-confidence of people who are blind through the use of Seeing Eye dogs. In pursuit of this mission, The Seeing Eye trains Seeing Eye dogs to guide people who are blind and instructs them in the proper use, handling, and care of their dogs. To share how this life-changing work is accomplished, one of The Seeing Eye's guide dog mobility instructors will join Kyle Street, a Seeing Eye graduate, to offer an inside look at the training of a Seeing Eye dog, while Kyle shares his firsthand experience of partnering with a Seeing Eye dog and the profound impact it has had on his daily life.

Gina's Tennis World will celebrate the grand opening of its third court on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 649 Springfield Avenue.
The addition comes with a new sign on Springfield Avenue that owner Gina Genovese hopes will finally put the longtime tennis club on the map for residents who may not have known it was there.
The grand opening will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Angie Devanney at 11 a.m. From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., guests can try out HEAD demo rackets against a ball machine and test their skills by hitting targets for prizes.
Throughout the event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests can take photos with life-sized cutouts of tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. A raffle will give one lucky winner the chance to take a cutout home.
"After being in business for 43 years in Berkeley Heights, I am so excited to have the opportunity to have more kids and adults learning to love the game of tennis," Genovese said. "I still enjoy teaching even more than I did in 1983."
Tanvi Silvester, a former Gina's Tennis World player now in college, said the club's environment made all the difference in her experience learning the sport.
"I'd recommend Gina's Tennis World because it's such a friendly environment," Silvester said. "Starting a new sport can be intimidating at any age, and the environment you learn in plays a huge role in how much you end up loving the game. Gina, Wendy and the entire staff are so welcoming and kind. They make you want to come back and fall in love with tennis."
Julia Jarvis, a student and player at the club for 22 years, echoed that sentiment.
"Gina's Tennis World has always been community-focused, where everyone feels like family," Jarvis said. "It's not an ultra-competitive, toxic or intimidating culture, and it's a safe place to learn. This new chapter will let her share her gift with even more people, and I'm truly so excited for her and her world."

About Gina's Tennis World Gina Genovese founded Gina's Tennis World in 1983 after coming off the women's professional tour, quickly attracting nationally ranked players — including, in one year, 12 boys who were ranked No. 1 on their high school teams. For more than four decades, she has taught players ages 5 to 80 at every skill level, working alongside fellow instructors Coach Wendy and Coach Phil for more than two decades. She is now teaching a second generation of students and says she can't wait to welcome a third.
