Join us at the Restore Hetch Hetchy Annual Dinner, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM for an unforgettable evening celebrating the cultural heritage of Hetch Hetchy, the artistry of Yosemite’s master weavers, and the ongoing vision for restoration. Hosted at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center; this is an immersive celebration. Tickets at hetchhetchy.org/dinner-registration/We are honored to welcome renowned basket weavers Dr. Julia Parker (Coast Miwok/Kashaya Pomo) and Lucy Parker (Coast Miwok/Kashaya Pomo/Yosemite Miwok/Mono Lake Paiute) as our Guests of Honor.
These women are acclaimed artists, educators, and cultural stewards whose work has helped preserve and share Indigenous traditions across generations. Dr. Julia Parker, a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship, has spent decades teaching and demonstrating the artistry of traditional basketry—vessels that carry the knowledge, stories, and values of ancestors while inspiring future generations. Her daughter, Lucy Parker, is an accomplished weaver and advocate who works closely with national parks, public agencies, and land management organizations to promote the protection of traditional homelands, cultural resources, and Indigenous stewardship practices. Their extraordinary baskets are featured in museums and private collections throughout the world. We invite you and your guests to join us for this memorable evening, beginning with a cocktail reception and silent auction featuring a curated collection of fine basketry, handmade flutes, books, photography, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Guests will then enjoy a dinner showcasing organic, seasonal, and thoughtfully crafted cuisine. The evening’s program will also feature music by Grammy-nominated artist Aaron White (Northern Ute, Diné), culminating in a special presentation by our Guests of Honor, Dr. Julia Parker and Lucy Parker.
Through their stories, artistry, and deep connection to the land, they will share insights into Yosemite’s living cultural heritage and the enduring legacy of the Hetch Hetchy Valley. We hope you will join us for this inspiring celebration of culture, history, artistry, and stewardship.

“Should I help my children now, or leave everything in my trust?”
It may be one of the most common questions we hear especially with Bay Area home values and long-held stock positions in the picture.
There isn’t one answer for every family. That’s why we’re hosting a Lunch & Learn to walk through the considerations.
Family Wealth: Give Now or Leave for Later?
Marilyn Suey, Founder of The Diamond Group Wealth Advisors, and estate planning attorney Robert J. Silverman will cover common questions, including:
Is it better to give to my kids now or leave an inheritance?
We’ll compare lifetime gifting with transfers at death. That includes how annual gift exclusions and certain trusts may be used to support children and grandchildren, and the tax and family considerations that come with each approach.
Can I preserve an inheritance from lawsuits, creditors or a child’s divorce?
We’ll discuss how trusts that continue for a beneficiary’s lifetime, and marital agreements, may help safeguard assets.
What about stock or real estate I’ve owned for decades?
We’ll explain the “step-up” in basis and the choices people weigh for highly appreciated assets: selling, holding, gifting, donating, or using a charitable trust.
You’ll leave with a clearer picture of your options and better questions to bring to your own legal, tax and financial professionals.
Reserve free now:

P.S. Not sure which of these questions apply to your family? Come anyway. Most attendees find the conversation helps them figure out what to ask next.
You’re welcome to bring your spouse or up to two guests. Planning for the next generation often goes best as a family conversation.
