Petra - Seeds of Joy Village, Neighbor

Seeds of Joy Village is a mixed-age preschool/Kindergarten program for children 2½ to 6 years of age. The curriculum accommodates a broad age range, like a family allowing the children to learn from each other in different age-appropriate ways socially and in skill building. The older children help the younger children, and gain a sense of mastery through helping. The younger children learn and grow from interacting with the older children.

Our school is a place for creative play in a warm, secure, home-like environment. In a colorfully decorated room filled with natural, open-ended materials, the primary “work” of preschool and kindergarten-aged children is to explore their imaginations, their physical abilities, their artistic impulses, and to experience the natural world.



Out of joyful and enthusiastic activity, the children have the opportunity to develop capacities of imagination and creativity, along with a sense of wonder, reverence, and compassion for humanity and our earth. Family life is nurtured as well, with ongoing parent education and support, opportunities for building community, and festival celebrations throughout the year.
